Definitely NOT a wheaten marans...maybe a cuckoo marans?

Well the wheaten cockerels do feather in darker than the pullets, but mine definitely did not have that much black. I suppose it is possible its a wheaten, and if so its definitely a cockerel. The hens stay wheaten colored.

Thank you. I was thinking he was FAR to dark. Cuckoo would have a fairly regular pattern to it, right? This guy doesn't. His feathers are dark grey, tipped light tan grey.

Also, I wanted your opinions about this chicken. I hatched it from an egg labelled Wheaten Marans- I have never really seen one, and definitely not in this vulture stage (ugly preadolescent stage)
I am aware it is a cockerel, but is it a wheaten? Anyone want it

I don't think that is cuckoo either.

He had a pretty bad injury when he first showed up that was still fresh and bleeding, but we couldn't get near him. When we brought him in after being shot (poor baby, right), the vet said it was a chemical burn. It starts at his spine and goes down his front shoulder and side. It healed up nicely, but he'll always have the scar. His hair won't grow back there. I don't understand how people can do such terrible things.

OMG. that's awful.

I wish I had pics of my wheaten cockerel growing out! He was so funny looking at the time, I didn't take any, lol.

I will take some better pictures when I get home. I was pretty disappointed with that batch of eggs. Out of 30 eggs- only 5 developed and hatched. She sent me OEs and BLRW that weren't even fertile, I checked.

Our cat that can sleep with me is the Cornish Rex. For a "cuter" cat look for the elvish Devon Rex - had those before. The siamese (oriental not applehead) was fine until spayed...spay-coat still sets me off. Also have hubby's MaineCoon cutie.

If you really wanted a horse that you might enjoy find a well-bred, well-coated Baskir Curly. Wonderful breed to ride and heavenly to brush-- just love them. Would still be on my wish list if I were a tad younger.
Those Bengals are gorgeous...almost makes me want to rethink my resolution of no cats.

I like cats, but our last one that just passed got a little weird in her old age and was peeing EVERYWHERE. I think she went senile. I am tired of my house smelling like that. and even though I cant smell it anymore, I am sure another cat would and would pee in the same places.

plus I have a whole bunch of friends that are allergic. what is up with all the allergies nowadays?

since y'all are posting more animal pics, I get to add a few more. Sorry, no creepy crawly or slimy here. Spiders freak me out! But I would like to see a pic of the bearded dragon?!?! I looked, but didn't see a picture....HMMMMM

Anyway, here are two of my horses...

Jewel, my Tenn walker that I had for about 7 years or so...

and then here is Laine, he was just given to me by DH who found him for me

I LOVE horses. I wish our property had more grass...but we are in the middle of the woods.
Maybe that's why we got Leonbergers...closest thing to horses I could find!

Do you sell your pysanky eggs?
You know I never have until I posted them for trade that one time and someone asked about a couple and I did...if you have one in mind pm me and I will see if I can bear to give that one up.

but it makes me very happy that you like them enough to ask!
