I will take some better pictures when I get home. I was pretty disappointed with that batch of eggs. Out of 30 eggs- only 5 developed and hatched. She sent me OEs and BLRW that weren't even fertile, I checked.

The other thing that threw me off is that the legs look really dark. My wheatens have very light colored legs...that stinks about the eggs, was she at least willing to replace the infertile ones?

since y'all are posting more animal pics, I get to add a few more. Sorry, no creepy crawly or slimy here. Spiders freak me out! But I would like to see a pic of the bearded dragon?!?! I looked, but didn't see a picture....HMMMMM

Anyway, here are two of my horses...

Jewel, my Tenn walker that I had for about 7 years or so...

and then here is Laine, he was just given to me by DH who found him for me

Also, I wanted your opinions about this chicken. I hatched it from an egg labelled Wheaten Marans- I have never really seen one, and definitely not in this vulture stage (ugly preadolescent stage)
I am aware it is a cockerel, but is it a wheaten? Anyone want it

Are you sure that's not a baby bald eagle???

And it's decidedly not a cuckoo marans, with that brown on his head. I'm at a loss!

Debs_flock shipped me Campine eggs last Monday. I didn't get them 'till Friday. USPS put a note on the box that they were damaged AND REPACKED! I've never heard of them repacking a box before. You all know they deliver everything damaged, if not utterly destroyed. After careful inspection I could not determine why the box was repacked. Well I candled those eggs tonight and every one of them is growing. All of them. 100%. I couldn't be happier! So what are you putting in their water? I want some of that for my chickens! Thank you Deb!

Here is a picture on him as a chick. From my google searching, he appeared to be a normal looking wheaten chick...

See its even darker than normal at that age I think. My wheatens feathered out the same light color, until about four weeks, then the cockerel started getting darker. I suppose it might be a wheaten just feathering in differently...or it could be an accidental cross of some kind.

He looks a lot like my WM roo.

Here he is in the middle of the group with his head down. Took this shot yesterday.
