Our PO never gives me a receipt for my packages that I send and I am in there every day. Our postmaster (the only one working there) always scans them right away unless there is another customer. Ours is a very small town.

Mine usually gives one if I stick around to wait for them to scan it.

when I printed my label it printed the receipt along with the label...I just take the packages down and drop them off at the window. I have never had any trouble shipping eggs though. I have traded and sold numerous times and they always arrive in a timely manner.

Can you snap a pic of the receipt & post it? Maybe someone can decipher the tracking info. ?

I do the same as WVchick71. I print the label from home and just drop the package off at the window. I've never received a receipt other than the one that printed with the label. I guess it just depends on the postal worker.

I wish emoticons were enabled on the mobile site. I'm looking for the shrug

Right!!! I've had packages go from me and arrive at the other person's house before the USPS updated their website. No joke.

Sometimes the PO waits a few hours to update their info. I have had packages scanned in front of me and when I go home to check the number they are showing exactly what is happening with WVchick's number.

FYI. I print my labels at home as well. As soon as you print the label, USPS automatically sends an email with a DC number that you could forward on, but the DC number WON'T give any status on the package until the package is picked up (or dropped off at a PO) and the package's mailing label has been scanned (accepted by the PO). Only when the package has been accepted that tracking info will show up when you enter the DC on the USPS website. There is an exception. If you use a SCAN form (when you want to track acceptance for one or more packages,) as soon as you print a label, the tracking info on that DC will show "Electronic shipping info has been received" on the USPS website; when you see this message and nothing else, you will know that the shipping label has been printed, but the PO has not accepted the package(s) yet.
