Oh bother...

I am glad people are having pretty little hicks hatch and are posting pictures! It lightens my day. I have had a migraine for two days and it sure is getting old. I had someone text me they where taking ten quail, make plans, then decide it was two far of a drive- even with me meeting them in town... Sigh... Oh well, personally, I would like to at Lear get one hatch out of them enforce selling them, but my husband wants them gone. What a downer

For me, I have an almost full incubator, waiting on eggs from John farmer, who shipped the eggs and gave me notice, but the PO has decided to take their sweet time getting them here. I set my BCM eggs today from AyeUpChuck, an hopefully they will be perfect for NYDH- but I really don't plan on participating in the contests. I also have a dozen jersey giants, 7 sebrights (although I do not expect them to be pure bred) two SFH from BHep that are looking beautiful. Those should hatch this weekend, and sc$&@ my husband, I am keeping those suckers

Mine are hatching now!

These Wheaten Marans were supposed to be from Wayne, but when he/she/it couldn't give me a confirmation number, I just bought my own. Turns out wayne's ebay account bought Wheaten Marans eggs from the same place the week I was supposed to have the eggs shipped from "his flock". So I'm glad his never came, sounded like they were coming rotten and not viable.

Here's to offering Wheaten Marans hatching eggs next year!

Good luck!

Sometimes a response is even warranted.

Seriously guys, no one is handcuffing any of you to this swap. You don't like the rules or how it's ran, by all means move on. No one forced any of you to claim what you claimed either. If we allow one individual to swap swaps then more are going to want to. And frankly, I'm not into swapping for the headache. And just for the record I keep very good record and I know how to supervise myself.

Just my $.02

Good luck with those! I know quite a few around here would love to have some!

Just to clarify, since this was mentioned in the same post, my re-swapping my swaps has nothing to do with the person selling swap eggs on ebay, that was Wayne. I was the one who found out what he was doing, and informed the thread admins. I also was the one who found all of the info about his past record (all available freely in the public domain and discovered through google), and I was the one who physically drove to his town in an attempt to help verify his legitimacy. Now, I am the pariah of the thread because I've rubbed some people the wrong way, asked for more clear communication and accountability from the people in charge. I get that, it's not always easy to be the voice of dissent, and it certainly doesn't earn you any friends.

I'm sorry you all think that erasing my name and writing in someone else's for a swap is too much record keeping, if that is the case I'm surprised you are able to keep track of whose eggs you are offering, or whose swaps you are using between you etc etc. I think it's really interesting that there are some thread admins offering spring eggs without providing the information stated in the rules, offering eggs from birds that are still babies, offering eggs from birds they do not yet own (but are simply the highest bidder on RBA), sending eggs that are older than 4 days, and routinely going over the stated limit of swaps. Claiming things for others, offering things for others, etc. is no big deal, but I want to offer some of the things I've claimed that someone else might want more than I do, and might really enjoy, and it's a huge deal. I haven't done anything to violate any of the rules in doing this, and if the new recipient is happy with the result, and all it requires is for you to ship to a different name & address than my own, why is it so wrong?

I'm glad that there are people on the swap that still enjoy it, and I'm sure this will soon be forgotten and you all will continue swapping as usual. Unfortunately for me, the elitism and hypocrisy has totally ruined it for me. If you institute rules, whatever they may be, you should follow them. In particular, if you are a thread admin, you should be setting the example for the other participants. If you don't like the rules you yourself decided upon, change them. Operating outside of the rules is confusing for everyone and sends mixed signals to the people who are trying to do the right thing.

Back when I first learned of the thread and Nan was getting herself kicked off, I thought she was totally out of line. Now, I realize she had some valid points, but simply didn't communicate them appropriately. It's great that there are people managing this thread to keep the participants honest and make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. It's certainly not an easy job, I know. Maintaining accountability is crucial, the question I have is ladies, who is accountable for you?
Wow who is highest bidder on RBA on that is offering eggs from birds they do not yet own? Please do tell. That will absoutly not be tolerated. Who is sending eggs older than 4 days? and most of all who is reguarly going the swap limit? I'm pretty sure I have been going over enough times to allow everyone extra swaps. I stated earlier this month that I would be going over the limit until Jan 1st to allow everyone extra swaps for the holidays. It was never intended to be an ongoing thing.

Yes I do admit we have been a little lax in making everyone post pictures of their birds and state how many swaps they owe for Spring eggs I also know Kytinpusher did just recently enforce this and to my knowledge no one has offered Spring eggs without following the rules since.

Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention we will make sure that everyone follows the posted rules from now on.

What baffles me more than anything is why would one claim eggs if they didn"t want them in the first place???
