it's so hard as the sussex are new to me.  i have orp shape down pretty well, but still trying to get the sussex together.  maybe you can pm me any specific pointers he shared? :)  I bought the flock off cheryl at The Omelet Ranch who hatched and grew out his eggs but she decided to focus on some different breeds so i literally bought about 30ish birds from here and gonna narrow down to two pens of 5-6 birds to be my breeding group... but so hard for me to choose!!

he just gave me pointers on the coloring to look for close to the skin and talked about the conformation of those I was buying. I don't think he would mind talking with you at all especially about birds that came from his breeding. If you like I can send you his email and you can contact him. he told me he would be happy to look at pics and give advice on the next breeding step once I hatch out some chicks from these.

Yes sounds great!!

My wheatens lay the BLUEST eggs I get. I don't see any green in them..... WHO got some Wheatens from me? I know someone did....

If you did, what did you think of the color?

I would be more than happy to work something out with you, but they are sporatic layers..... Lay really well then almost stop.... then go again.... It has been gloomy here off and on for several weeks and I am just not getting many eggs. I may change the light in their pen. I just have it on in the morning but with all the rain.... they may need more.

If you can remember, remind me in a week or so and I will let you know what is going on with their laying. The hens have already molted and I have several new pullets that should start laying soon too. That is why they have light... to help the pullets along.
I did, no green at all... very pretty blue color

I am still working on the chicken trivia contest, but have created another contest: name the puppies contest. I get to keep 2 of the puppies!!!!! But I need names, and am hoping everyone can help me out. Whoever comes up with the cutest names, will win a dozen surprise eggs from me, come Spring.

It's going to be a LONG wait till NYD!!!

Congrats!!! How exciting!!! I REALLY need more space for more chickens, lol!

D,
are you swapping/selling any W/bW Am eggs? I need some (well one good boy) with less tan/green/mint and a bit more blue tone. It seems like every time I order I get eggs that are less blue-ish than what I have/had. I wouldn't mind if I had time and space to so some good EE or OE's but but I don't. Need to stick to straight Am's and looking for better color in eggs. I cannot 'sit' on auctions and such here, and don't trust most ebay sellers so personal inquiry it is.....
Let me know if you think if you think you are going to throw some on here or on the side that would be helpful to me

If you need another source for some variety... I have Ams, they are POL, so I don't know yet what their eggs are like, but I know they hatched from blue eggs... Also, I know a breeder here in ID who has the wheaten Ams, also a good blue egg, she sells hatching eggs and has started her waiting list for spring 2013, here on BYC she is pawtraitart, her website is qcupoultry.com

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!

Considering it, didn't want to bid against another BYC member, but she's been outbid. I am bidding on the ebay auction for them. Lots of GFF stuff listed on ebay.

Did you already get some choc Wyandotte eggs from GFF? If so, how are they developing?
