How soon after getting hens (that were laying before purchase) do they start laying again? (after being introduced to a new home, etc)

My fart eggs have been much smaller. I had a WL that laid twice in one day and the second one was the size of a small grape. I had another one even smaller.... I think that came from a SLW pullet, it had the tiniest little yolk about the size of a pin head.

I remember getting one about the size of a grape. I have no idea which hen laid it, could have been a bantam. Then they're the oddball eggs with other stuff in there. One day a found an egg that rattled. It was on the poop board, so I know it was laid that day. I found a small amount dried out egg stuff in there, absolutely dry, shrunken down to about the size of a nickel. That has to be the strangest egg I've ever gotten.

...a rattling egg would have scared the you-know-what out of me. I don't think I would have dared open it for fear of the unseen/unknown rattling on the inside.

Last time I told a buyer a week, he emailed me back a week later to tell me one of them laid an egg on the way to their new home and that he'd gotten several eggs every day since. But remember this time of year they won't be laying their best anyway. They'll lay when they're read.

Enquiring minds want to know. I couldn't imagine what would make an egg rattle, so I opened it.

I just had a maran hatch out and I have not seen this coloring before. It is a yellowish gray/blue color. I will try to get a picture of it. Has anyone seen this coloring before?

I hatched out 10 Marans chicks last month. 7 were BCM and 3 were blues. BCM roo/ Blue hens. All 3 blues were a different shade of gray. The one on the bottom middle is the lightest color gray and had that yellowish gray/blue color. The bottom left chick was another shade darker. The very top right chick was the darkest.There are 5 Araucana chicks in the picture also (just to clarify.)
