CPL, I just realized despite all the eggs I have coming from various people in the spring, I have NOTHING coming from you. I am going to have to start doing some serious stalking. Love those chicks and that frizzled serama.

This is my I have an excuse for more swaps now, even though I really don't.

AH!!!!  that might be a great Idea if it works!  I am getting some of Babymake6's Jan 2nd chicks!!!!!  maybe I can graft them to her!

Make sure to read up on it and put them under a night. I'd put some heat there while the chicks figure out to sleep under her. I do a lot of broody grafting and sometimes the chicks take a bit to bond. Also put them in at night so she thinks she has miracle chicks rather than intruders.

Aw I went to the "big city" today cuz there is a trader joes and I thought I would get some of those fertile eggs to try under the broody... But they don't have them

Glad I didn't drive all the way up there like I was going to. Have you tried looking on Craigslist for eggs? Right before the NYD hatch I found a lady selling eating eggs and emailed her to ask if she had a roo with her hens and she did. I was able to get a dozen fertilized eggs for $5. She was selling them for $2/dozen as eating eggs and $5 as hatching eggs...lol.

Yeah, I wish I had called first. I was going to get their free range and hope for the best, but the guy said they only sell pasteurized eggs.

I am expecting eggs either tomorrow or Saturday, and I am picking up like 5 dozen next week... I just wanted to try it!

for my laying flock, I want one of everything. seriously...I am doomed.
but something that I would love to have but don't is a breed that lays an exceptionally large creamy white egg for my pysanky
