Make that 25 degrees. Wow I missed that frost warning which means gonna have some water issues today. Bummer. Anyways, it's a new year! Yay. Happy new year!

My hubby and I dated for 20+ years and I could count the number of fights on one hand..... since we have been married..... I don't have enough chickens to count that high

Oh no! Just woke up and realized we don't have any power. I bet someone knocked over the phone pole again by our house last night sometime. It's a really right curve and a couple times a year someone going to fast plows into it. Got a phone call from pg and e telling me about. Not good. That means its gonna be a while. My incubator is full and likely has been without power for 6 hours. It could easily be all day before power is back on. Also have so many chicks needing hear lamp!! Aargh. Not sure what to do but wait and hope for the best. Also it's about 30 degrees outside so garage and barn are prob about 40-45 degrees. That's where all the chicks are. Oh boy!
Uh-oh! Hope they get the power back on fast!! Can you get your hands on a generator??

Put the incubators in the car with the heaters running??

I grabbed like 4'big blankets an draped them over the incubator. I have a cabinet so the car doesn't work to keep them warm. Gonna call pg and e in 2 hours to get a time estimate and then may have to consider a generator.

A small generator, well worth the money!!!

Can't agree enough. When we first moved out to our place we didn't have one and our son was about 8 monts old. It was the middle if winter and we all sat huddled and finally we got so cold that we went for a very long drive in the car so that he wasn't frozen. We bought a decent generator the following day!
