Today is day 20 on mine but still nothing yet. This will be my first home grown SLW hatching

Usually I have chicks by today but it has been colder and I don't think my bator was holding temp as good as it should so they maybe a day late.

I am back to work tomorrow also. Worked like crazy for two weeks so I could take vacation and now dreading going back to see my desk. I will have to work like crazy for two weeks to catch up. It was nice while it lasted.

WOW

I watched you all play last night until I was too tired to stay awake.

I drooled over the cheesecake although I can't even eat cheesecake.

I picked my favorite offer.. and cheered when it was accepted.

This is so much fun - I can hardly wait until three months and 50 posts when I can actually play on the new swap thread!

I have my strategy all picked out: fill out the form when eligible, set up the Silkibators with golf balls until they go broody, say mine and put up Paypal when I see those eggs I just gotta have so I can get cleared as quickly as possible - but only 7 swaps a week...

Does anybody have any idea how many eggs will actually fit under a broody Silkie?

I don't have any Real Breeds just yet - only Hatchery ones.. but someday...

Man am I IN TROUBLE THEN...

I can hardly wait!

Oh... could madamwlf please post on that starting post how to find this thread? I think it might help other newbies like me come over here to ask their questions.. instead of the swap thread

Ship day here is as follows............

all morning chores, turn out and feeding done

go over that days shipments (eggs and lives)

prep all boxes in the office, print shipping and tape to box.

Label ALL boxes

fill live boxes with bedding and cups for grogel and place on packing table

On days we ship lives the eggs go out with them

we start packing at 1:30 - 2:00 and arrive at the PO at 3:30 - 4:00 to drop off

What do you mean the 'eggs go out with them'?

Do you have the shipping boxes listed in your online store? Would love to have a few on hand. I have some nice silkie juvies I'm going to put up for sale soon
