DMRippy-
EIGHT out of the NINE eggs you sent me are developing!!!!
FYI, these are the eggs that where in my genesis that decided to stop heating overnight. These eggs where at 70-80 degrees for probably 10-12 hours. I originally had 3 under my broody hen, and the other six in the bator. I moved them all under the broody when the genesis shut down on me. Embryos are TOUGH!!
On a sad note, I pulled one be uses it was clear (after cracking open, it had started but stopped probably day 4-5) and a second that had a crack in it, and candled like it was not developed. Cracked it open and sure enough there was a moving embryo

I am thrilled!
Donna, I am totally going to get more eggs from you

I have never gotten that kind of development before from shipped eggs

I have a confession to make. I should have said something sooner, but I had to see the reactions I would get.

If you get White Orpington eggs from me, I really did not send you lavender eggs, I promise! The white orps do not hatch out white or yellow. The look grayish/silvery in color. Sorry, everyone, I should have warned you, but I couldn't help myself!

They might carry silver and hatch gray. Whites with silver is not a bad thing.

I have about 3-4 salmon faverolle cockerels that I am ground out looking for a good roo. They are between 8-12 weeks old but I'm in Cali. Not sure where you are or if you are near anyone else I'm shipping to. They are in the same pen as the rhodebars and legbars that I will be shipping in the next week or so. :)
my Mr will be driving thru California on his way home from AZ. On Tuesday,if you have extra legbars, I could probably convince him to stop and take them off your hands :)

Hey there. I will have to do some leg banding. I may have all my grow outs spoken for at this point but not positive. I will try to check and band the legs of the ones spoken for. So hard to count in my grow out coop which has prob 30-40 juveniles that allow very fast!!

Papa brooder- when you get the boxes, maybe calculate shipping without the Faverolle and then again with the Faverolle and I will pay the difference, plus what ever you want for the rooster

Sorry to hold up the thread. There was "nothing in the house to eat" for 3 teenage boys. I also stopped by the feed store. While there I picked up a few bags of equine pellets to try and ran into a teacher that was hatching for the first time with a ton of questions. Equine pellets are already in the small 4x6 coop (unoccupied for the moment). One bag covered the floor maybe 1/4". Is this enough as it'll expand or should I throw a second bag in?

If you do, great, if not, no worries. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

glad you were able to help her out! did you wet it down a bit? I love mine! after it settles check the depth...i like mine thick because they will also bathe in it.

No, I had read not to do that as their "waste" will expand it? Do you think I should? I've got to get some pics of my BLRWs to show everyone as they're laying and I'll be offering these soon. I've got a Blue Roo and Pullet directly from Foley and 2 splash pullets that are from Foley/Sterling lines. Should be able to offer them and CCLs in a a few weeks on here.
