Sounds like my house... have to lock up everything, I had to put locks on all the doors up high, so no one would leave the house and get into the street somehow, yikes!!That is really interesting. Thanks much. I have two Roos covering the 7 hens and they definitely do their job.. In that case ill just keep the next couple days for myself and then resume sending with an extra.
thanks for the feedback. Oh and I can't remember which one she was. I was just chasing to catch her and get her back in and realized I never paid attention as I also had a loose Marans rooster that I was chasing only to realize that was silly since he can mate the free rangers all hr wants. In the panic I just didn't pay attention. Lesson learned and I moved all the latches out of reach of the 2 and 4 year olds.

oh, now I get it! I must be super slow this morning. I thought it was some super secret inside joke.

Yes, or perhaps those elusive auto-sexing FBCM eggs. The eggs have a light dot on the more round end for a boy and a light stripe on the side for a girl!![]()

Sorry you are disappointed, but that is the risk of buying straight run chicks at a young age. If you are seeking hens you might be interested in POL Pullets or laying hens. Both of these will run you significantly more than your inexpensive day olds as a straight run.
Did y'all feel sorry for me and let me win some Choc Wyandotte eggs on RBA? If you did, ty!!![]()
MINE!!!! oh wait, I guess it'll be like 7 months before I can do that, lol and CONGRATS on your new bator!!!
