I only have the styrofoam cartons, so I will trim them a bit and divide them into 4's or so. What about cutting out the holes in the bottom, Brookhavens? For low pippers?

Thanks so much for the advice.

I'm excited!

I cut the bottoms out for better air circulation.

My Juv. Rhodebars are on their way from Papa Brooder!! I am so excited!! Pray they travel well and arrive safely. I worry about USPS now as everyone has been having problems!!

One of the eggs I set yesterday started weeping, so I pulled it. Super quick for it to get weepy, less than 24 hours. When I broke it open, it had a meat spot, but wasn't scrambled or anything. No development either.
You would not see much development overnight. Is it possible that was condensation from temperature change? Weeping eggs that were weeping from bacteria or spoilage would smell too. HHHmmm curious

I had this happen with shipped eggs recently too and it was suggested that perhaps the eggs had frozen or gotten very cold in transit. It was the first time I've seen that, so I'm not 100% sure but it made sense. There was no bad odor, just a bit of leaking. There is just so much to learn! I wish there were an EASY button for hatching!
