Ideal hatchery is having a huge sale on bantams and ducks. I am tempted to order and raise to sell at local livestock swap meet this spring. .85 per bantam sounds like I could make a profit. What do you guys think?

Do bantams sell good in your area? I don't think they do here. Bantams are so cute though.

Thank you sooooo much COF for putting that together. I was supposed to be mailing relatively shortly but had already decided to wait until it was above 35 degrees because of one of your previous posts. What box do you recommend for Juvenile chicks? One of the horizon boxes? Also upon reading I didn't see the 35 degree rule unless I missed it. I'm wondering how hatcheries get away with shipping in the winter. I'm learning this the hard way due to losses.
the temps are burried deep, I can go digging and find them, but its in a sub section of an article so give me a few days of digging and reading.

hatcheries get around it because they assume the risk, and will just reship new hatchlings as replacements. Small breeders cant do that and usually try and file for a refund for losses.

Juveniles would likely be a single stall shipper or Omni box from horizon depending on how many you are sending.

do you have a link for this, I was just on their site and didn"t see it

Believe it or not, silkies and red sex-links sell for the highest prices other than actual games of anything around here. The bantam bin at Atwoods and Tractor Supply always empties first, then red sex-links or "rir" and orpingtons.
my old english games (not bantams) sell really good around here also. I have bb reds and brown/reds

Breezy cold, but otherwise sunny and pleasant day here.

Just got done with the NPIP inspector, nice gal, now to wait for them to file the paperwork and get me my number. :)

Asked them to look into AI testing to get NPIP AI certified for shipping to those "problem" states.

Find out where to get the tests/cost/where to send them. I am certified to actually DO the tests, but since WI doesn't test for AI, I am assuming they don't subsidize testing for it. Heck, they don't subsidize testing for what they DO require. LOL
