I think 2 of the silkies I hatched last week are frizzles!!

These are the first frizzled anything I have had hatch!! I once set 6 eggs reg and 2 frizzled...all 4 reg hatched but neither of the frizzled did. I was starting to think I was cursed! Thank you papa brooder!!! Now to see if either turns out to be a frilkie

Me too, however, shipped Silkie eggs don't seem to do very well for me.

I managed to get four of the ones RedBrushFarm sent to hatch -- not a great hatch rate, but then that whole hatch I had issues and did okay but not great :-( This time, I'm hoping for a Tony the Tiger "GRRRRR-EAT!" hatch!

I have no idea, Clarence! She's from Wingstone who sent me some mixed-breed eggs in my secret Santa pack She sent me a list of roos that were in the pen but I still can't figure out what she might be -- SLW, Jersey Giant, Barred Rock, serama, and easter egger roos, so I have no clue. Yes, Mrs. Whatsit has a definite topknot of some sort

Whee, Herducks! That's wonderful news! I love the term frilkie -- always makes me think it should be the name of some Irish wood sprite...
I'm still thinking a frizzled jersey giant would be a lot of fun!

I know, right? You'd think they'd WANT people to opt for the testing and make it a little more accessible.
Dr. Barrington, the head of LA's NPIP program, said the vet they're sending for the pullorum testing can't do it. I'm very confused by that. Maybe because the pullorum testing is paid for by grant money? I'm going to contact the vet directly to see if I can pay him on the side to do it so it won't "officially" be part of the same testing.

The vet that came here to do my NPIP was out of Lake Charles. I asked him about what I'd have to do to ship into Texas since they're also on stricter NPIP regulations. He told me to just call or email him and set up a time for him to come and test whatever birds I wanted to cross that border. He would then sign off on a form for me to send with them to Texas.

So, if he is willing to do that for me to transport to Texas, surely yours will come to you to do the AI testing.

It depends. If you live close enough, nothing. I believe it is $.15 per bantam for shipping. Yes, that is correct. I looked it up.

So I put 2 of my CCL eggs and 8 of Bantam Chocolate Wyandotte eggs into lockdown. Both CCL have hatched. Both girls!!!!

3 of the wyandottes have hatched and the other 5 have pipped!!!

Did I mention I was sent 8 wyandotte eggs??? The same 8 that are in lockdown and pipped and hatching!!! Awesome eggs!!!!!!!!!!!

Envious of the silkies! I am still trying to figure out how to replace the two sets from EmVickery that fried. When all is said and done, I'll have paints and whites with some showgirls in each. Determined to get those at least, then maybe a bbs pen and some lavs, lol. We do have one silkie and one silkie mix. The mix is outside, the pure is inside in a big cage, stinking up the house. She gets changed on a daily basis,but she still smells! I had three different candles going today because my house hasn't smelled GOOD for awhile. My one friend used to comment on how she loved coming over because it always smelled so good in here... Haven't heard that comment since she got moved in here. Can't wait to move and get her moved out! Love her dearly, but chickens are definitely not my house pet of choice!

ok thanks! I saw that 15 cents thing, but didn't know if that was added to another charge. Y'all are really bad bad people! I guess I need to see if sah want some too. Good grief. Enablers.
