Anyone know a cheap place to get Ivermectin or something like it? Or would anyone like to sell my 10-15 dollars worth?

Yep that's about all I have left from my $45 bottle I just got and spilled. It went all over the floor and I stepped in it barefooted. I could taste it. I guess it really does absorb thru the skin. I guess I won't have mites or worms for awhile, lol

How are things looking in your lav. orp pen?

I'm trying to patiently wait for.......................

Deb

slowly picking up. I have some claims in front of yours though. I tested out some and they are due to hatch on the 24th so fertility is there. Yours were the most recent claim.

believe me once they all start kicking in I will be overrun with eggs! last year at peak I had filled chick/egg orders AND had 8-10 dozen in the fridge! EACH WEEK!

Good Morning All :frow   Got up and before I had coffee I put eggs in incubator. 14 BCM, 6 Silver Phoenix, 4 Naked Neck, 6 White Silkies, 14 SUPRISE eggs and 8 Australorp. WHAT A STRANGE MIX..... I have NO IDEA where I'm going to put them all. I need to downsize on the number of breeds I have, but I don't know where to start. I love them all. AND, I still have new breeds coming this spring from the swap :th I really need intervention - I just keep hatching and trading and buying and hubby can't keep up with new pens. Being a chicken lover is hard work!!:celebrate Nice to set here and read about others with the same problems = we are not a help group, we are an enabling group!! At least I have learned the new Chicken Math - It helps when I have to explain my addiction to anyone....HA!

Ummm yeah everyone that comes over leaves with a parting gift ;). Here have a chicken or 3. I have decided I'm getting rid of all the chickens I really don't need so I can use the pens for other breeds.

I just read the thread that you posted and the responses. The person who said she would die was (dramatically) saying that she might get very cold and die of exposure in the cold from the lack of feathers. Not that there is something seriously wrong with your bird.

I think it's a molt, if you aren't seeing bugs. Though I usually see molt happen around the head first. Just keep an eye on her. I would say she might need to be out into the coop until some feathers grow back, to keep her warm enough

For what it's worth, my barred rocks molted the same way -- breast and belly first, then upper feathers. The others were the other way 'round. Do you think it's the breed, maybe?

Sahwithchicks--Adorable pics!

Here I am at Day 21. I kept the temps up fairly well in the incubator last night. Then I really crashed somewhere around 5 this morning and they dropped to 96.9! Oh no...but sometime during that drop I had 3 begin to pip!

Only one is a total hole. The other two just barely cracked the shell a little. All is quiet and no movement. At least someone in there is trying!

Come on little babies!

That teeny little crack is totally normal -- they split the shell just enough to get airflow, then rest while their lungs are developing the rest of the way. You probably already know that :)

for you!

Donna-
I went to check in my broody hen and she has three fluffy copper Marans under her. Two are BCM and the third is a blue I believe. I assume the splash copper have more yellow fluff on them? I am so impressed with momma, I was worried and she is not the sweetest or nicest hen I have.
Here's the blue :D
