bidding on RBA this morning
Rhodebar Trio for me.

I don't mind a little snow. but I am lucky and the husband drives me to work. and we have all-wheel drive.

The chickens came flooding out of their door like normal this morning and were like: "what the he..." and then they went running onto the goat shed except one poor dorking who just stood there looking at it in disbelief. DH carried her to where the others were. he's such a softie!

don't think they like the snow!

I had a chick hatch yesterday moring that looks like it's tendons/ligaments over the back of the...heel? Knee? are rolling. he/she cant push her legs down and is just lying flat on the ground with her feet up around her ears. Sigh. I need to research what to do. she seems strong otherwise...has a healthy set of lungs. trying to brace myself to having to put her down. chicks are so friggin cute, though. sigh.

K peeps...i need some help...does anyone know who danielmor74 is on e$ay? Lol those are some really nice GL brahmas and I WANT some come Spring! :D

Well, GFF has redeemed themselves a bit. I'm getting a trio of Legbars next week from their new line and the shipping is free! A birthday present from them. Of course that is only part of my excitement. There is more to come later!!!
YAY! MINE on some of their eggs!

Awww, thank you so much! That's super sweet.

My husband's doing as well as can be expected. In fact, we're at a hotel in san francisco right now. Spent the whole day at the hospital doing a bizzillion tests. A little more testing tomorrow, then we're on our way home.
So far, it looks like the cancer hasn't spread any further, which makes him a good candidate for a drug study they're doing. He'll be starting that in a couple of weeks.

All fingers and toes are crossed. Also eyes, which makes driving a challenge. For your safety, please stay off the golden gate bridge while we're in town.
Sorry to hear about your husband-hope he gets well soon! Thanks for the laugh, though!

oh I am so glad I was drinking anything! that is too funny. Well I hope he continues to do well and if for some reason you don't see any improvements look into the Cancer Treatment Centers. There is one in Phoenix. We have a friend that was only given a few weeks to live and written off by his doctors. They only were giving him choices for palliative care. Him or his parents contacted the cancer treatment center and sent his medical info. They called them and told them to get their son on a plane. They said Ok, but we need to look into tickets. They said NO we said GET him to the airport NOW. They had the ticket waiting for him and they took him right away. He had 2 different types of cancer. They treated him and he is now cancer free! amazing place. With his insurance he has yet to see a bill.
That is an amazing story!

yes they have centers in Phoenix, I think OK, IL and one or two other places. You should be able to do a search on Caner Treatment Centers of America I think on that last part.
Our friend is still in the Phoenix area. He fell for his nurse and they are going to be married......

400

Look what came this morning! 44 bantam Cochin chicks!!!

Here is my breakdown...

9 black and yellow chicks. Probably mottled.
10 lt blue. I am thinking blue maybe self blue.
6 pale yellow. White
7 darker yellow/buff. They are buff and red. (I didn't realize they had both colors when doing my count)
3-4 that are a pale yellow with a bluish tinge. I have no idea what color they will be.....
4 silverish wild type. Either silver laced or silver penciled.
5 brownish black/brown wild type. I think they will be partridge.

They have the same special going on for next week. :)

Nat, you have made me soooooo thankful for my 19 degree morning. Thank you!

Btw...just curious but what do you have your home thermostat set on?

yes He is the man I bought all my Laced Brahmas from. He bought his directly from Dan Powell. Nice guy and stands behind his birds. He accidentally sent me 2 cockerels and a pullet instead of a trio and I asked him about it shortly after they arrived. He said he was sure he sent the standard trio but to let him know. Well they hit a certain point and it's real hard to tell until the cockerel sprouts up. Well, 2 cockerels sprouted up. I took pics and sent them. He said so sorry and sent a pullet roughly the same age that I had at the current time to mix with what I have! so now I have 4 cockerels (2 from Hatched eggs and 2 from what he sent) and 2 pullets!
Lovely birds!

He has a pair of gold laced brahmas up on RBA now.
