Which hatchery? We have ideal which is very close...I don't tend to care for hatchery stock...do you do well with those? What special do they have?Morning all!! We're finally above freezing and the rain started again! whoo hoo! no more of the yucky dry cold or frozen fog. So glad I live here and not somewhere colder! I like snow, in small doses. Like once a year, to melt within a couple of days.Jealous!! I want some chickies! I have some coming in March and some hatching in 2 weeks. I hate waiting!Look what came this morning! 44 bantam Cochin chicks!!! Here is my breakdown... 9 black and yellow chicks. Probably mottled. 10 lt blue. I am thinking blue maybe self blue. 6 pale yellow. White 7 darker yellow/buff. They are buff and red. (I didn't realize they had both colors when doing my count) 3-4 that are a pale yellow with a bluish tinge. I have no idea what color they will be..... 4 silverish wild type. Either silver laced or silver penciled. 5 brownish black/brown wild type. I think they will be partridge. They have the same special going on for next week.
Brrr....I keep mine at 68. I'm cold blooded though, unless it's like 85 outside, I'm freezing, even with multiple layers, extra socks and coats.Holy Cow!!!!! I usually keep mine at 60-65, however, I do sometimes raise it for a little bit.
