Question...I want to get a few hens for just eating egg production, no broodiness, great layers, what IYO is the best hatchery stock for this??

Lots of different breeds in my layer flock but I would say my Exchequer Leghorns and my Lakenvelders are my best layers and NEVER broody!

Whoever it was that was looking for dark brahmas, Banjoejoe4783 on here has them on his member page as available. He has a huge selection of birds, and I have heard nothing but good things about him and the quality of his eggs. His breed list is definitely worth checking out.

I would like to have a breeding pen of partridge Cochins too! Actually, I think I would take every variety of Cochins. They are such nice birds.

Does anybody know what type of Cochin this boy is? I hatched him last year from shipped eggs- I thought they were Lemon Blue but I'm not so sure that's what I hatched.

I have silver penciled rock and partridge eggs coming from Dick Hortsman. He was less expensive and he is a recognized breeder. I have learned to get the best you can. Make the road a little shorter. I have a Partridge Roo from him and he is huge and so pretty.
we really liked the look of the Silver Penciled Rocks from Die FLy, we bought BBB from Dick and saw his SPR they are beautiful also. We already have 2 Hens who are laying and one cockerel still trying to get his mojo up should be soon though.

. Yes we also found out to buy quality first the hard way, I bought 75 Blrw from a local breeder hoping to get a good breeding quad and did not like any of them as they grew out so sold them all and bought 6 from a better quality source, possums helped me get rid of 2 of those

and I sold one to someone who could not live without it.
