It blew last night like crazy. the house rattled and creaked. I thought for sure something was going to be picked up and moved!

yeah! and if i'd left it in the coop it probably would have frozen by the time I got home anyway. I think it is a welsummer...who just started laying. wonder if I should nuke it for lunch...LOL

I just had to go pick up my dog from a neighbors house. They where laughing cuz the stupid dog was chasing smoke from their fire pit. At least they weren't mad. They said he gave them a bit of a fright since he's so big, until they realized he was nice.
Him riding shotgun on the ride home. Unfortunately, he seems to think its s treat

let me tell you! I got 17 duck eggs from sebrightmom and ALL 17 are growing!!!!!!!! wish me luck that I can get them to lockdown and hatch! they are the cayugas

Her eggs are great. I guess I'm just no stinking good at hatching duck eggs. Haven't had one hatch yet. Got more cooking though. Last try.

oh boy I hope I can get these to hatch! did you have good development? if so when was it you had trouble? she mentioned something about humidity being 50% for incubation?

I never do anything special for mine. No misting, hand turning, nothing. I tend to treat all eggs the same and provided the bator is disinfected properly, I get good hatch rates. My hatch rates were getting low recently, plus my last setting had a ton of blood rings in previously developing eggs, so I pulled everything out to bleach, and found a dried up baby button quail hidden in there.
