how sad! wonder if there is some secret lockdown code. lol
This last batch is being done the way COF said she does hers: incubate like the chicken eggs and lay down for hatching with high humidity.

I just had to go pick up my dog from a neighbors house. They where laughing cuz the stupid dog was chasing smoke from their fire pit. At least they weren't mad. They said he gave them a bit of a fright since he's so big, until they realized he was nice.
Him riding shotgun on the ride home. Unfortunately, he seems to think its s treat :he

Yea. They pip three days early and take forever to hatch (three days), so they need to be left alone. I started making sure that nothing was hatching for at least five days before the duck eggs are due to hatch.

they say it takes 28 days for duck eggs? so I should put them in lockdown on day 25?

I do it four days before, so day 24. Just how I do it. Seems to work well for me, though I'm sure others have great results with different methods.
My main issue is keeping the bator disinfected. Bleach burns my lungs and gives me issues with my asthma, so I try alternatives and none work like bleach, period. :/

Have you tried Oxine?

No, where do you get that at? I need somethin to use after each hatch that will work. Mostly it's been natural cleaners after hatch and then once in awhile a total bleach down, when it starts giving me problems. :/
