Some people I believe spray it on their eggs. It won't hurt them.

My Fedex driver just delivered a package for me, and it was the Oxine I've been waiting for. Funny that y'all are discussing it. I ordered from Revival Animal Health, and it was $31.98 including shipping for a gallon. I do have a question. They shipped it with ice packs. Does it need to be refrigerated or something? I don't remember reading anything like that.

Nope. The ice packs are a freebie, just a marketing thing

I also ordered mine from them last time and got the ice packs.

Lol, so I guess you're in the same boat? Can you just spray and leave it, or do you have to wipe it out? It'd be nice if I could just spray the whole thing down after each hatch, instead of just spot cleaning, lol.

I clean my hatcher and incubators with soap/water then Oxine.

I also incubate and hatch with a tiny amount of Oxine mixed in with the water. Keeps the incubators and hatcher clean and helps kill any germs on the eggs surface. I prefer to do this instead of the Oxine bath that some people do because that will lower your hatch rate.

Wow...these neighbor stories are insane! Brings up a whole slew of thoughts for me. First, I am glad that my neighbors are understanding since I have a rooster that I swear crows in his sleep (as in 1 and 2 in the morning). Second, my DH has been recruited for a new job that would give us the opportunity to purchase a bigger lot and home if it pans out. I sure hope that we don't find our dream house and end up with nightmare neighbors

What a pretty egg this morning! I usually get only a few tiny speckles on one egg from this pen.

What a fantastic egg!

We are lucky with our neighbors. One house was just bought and empty. An Asian couple bought it and are redoing it, but he came over and chatted and both my dog and my chickens loved him. He picked one up so I'm guessing they had birds when he was a kid. They are going to gut and rebuild the house, so that will be noisy and I expect to have neighbor points for years after that .

We don't have anyone in the back due to the creek. Sound DOES carry on the creek, but We are downwind from the country club, and they have live bands a lot . IF you hate noise you'd move fast anyway, ha!

Our other neighbors live on the other side of the house and can't here anything. They hate guineas and peas, however, so we will never have them. They have some amazing pea stories, lol.


We do do neighbor maintenance .. in fact I think its time to drop eggs by next week.

Oxine is 200 times more powerful than bleach and can be sprayed right on the birds, roosts, floor, etc. You can even put a tiny bit in their water to keep bacteria from forming...
