Y'all are scaring me with all this talk of how hard ducks are to hatch. I have calls coming I would REALLY like to hatch.

Super CUTE Duckies!
From my own experience, they just require more humidity and more ventilation. When ducks pip internally and die, from my experience, it is because there wasn't enough ventilation. The most common mistake is closing some of the ventilation holes to get the humidity higher which ends up suffocating them. Just a lesson from my years of hatching ducks that I learned the hard way more than once.

I hope that helps some of you hatching ducks!

The double yolk SFH egg is growing really well. It is a super huge egg, so i am hoping both of the little ones will make it!

I can't wait to see if the double yolker makes it! That is a rarity and I'd love to see what they look like (smaller, if they grow to be normal sized, etc.?). Also, your new logo is AWESOME!!! Did you do that yourself?

I am just stopping by for a few minutes to catch up.... Actually home today all day! first time in soooo long. Cleaning all of the duck pens.

I finally decided I was tired of spooning and swooning over everybody's sebbies and hatching them for others, transporting them for others (so hard to deliver them and say goodbye) so that is my Valentine and anniversary present is Sebbie Geese! So, so, so excited. cannot sleep for dreaming of them.

Now, Hubby who 'hates' geese (why I never tried to keep any) is smitten with the pics of the Exhibition style dewlap T. geese exp. the buff ones. Over the years the only geese he has been around is the tall, mean rangy honkers that friends have 'cause nobody else will take the rotten things.

Maybe, if the sebbies are a hit and the clean-up and care is do-able we can add a few of those. He wants to get a pump for the creek and dig a small pond with drain/clean ..... Probably never happen and the big pools will be done but nice to think about.

back to trying to finish catching up. One more pen to clean but it can wait until after dinner -- take out chinese for friday night stay home date nite!
Glad to see you ...we have the same desire for a pond someday My husband also has given me permission to get geese...but he has no clue that the ones I want cost so much LOL. and I am not telling him either. I am just quietly hoarding pennies.

George doesn't like the ducks, but he wasn't super upset about the sebbie eggs coming. I mean, he wasn't super impressed either, but ya know. He doesn't know about the call ducks yet. When I said about the peafowl, I mentioned that they prolly won't hatch anyways. But my buddy has some too that I might be able to trade for later, lol.

:th Good lord, woman! How on earth did you swing those???? And :frow Madamwlf and everybody! I'm back home and let me tell you -- when CPL warns you she sends visitors home with birds? Uhmmm... Yeah. Meet Zeke! :)
Ok just so you all know I do NOT hand out pink cockatoos all the time, this was a case of right place right time and Zeke was smitten by Daphnie, she with him. I just don't have time for him and I have always said I would do whatever is best for my animals no matter what. Zeke has an open invetation to return anytime. I doubt that will happen.

Just went to the PO to mail CPLs Dutch eggs, and I was told they changed delivery confirmation so it is free now. You don't use the stick on labels anymore It automatically prints on the receipt.
