They are getting better with the emails. I had a nice long conversation with Jenny at lunch and boy do I have a box of chicks coming tomorrow.

Congrats - that is so exciting! I'm happy to hear they're getting more responsive.

Morning all!

My smallest is still the only one that made it to school today. This cough/fever/sore throat thing is dragging on.

My last 6 eggs are almost done hatching. My solo legbar egg hatched! And it's a girl!

I should have more eggs arriving tomorrow, so I'll have just enough time to clean out the incubator before starting all over again.

It's so miserable to have sick little ones. I hope they feel better soon! Congrats on the legbar chick!

Very pretty!

After all my nervousness about shipping lives, I am very pleased with the USPS today! I dropped off the 2 boys at the sort facility in Baton Rouge yesterday at 12:18pm. They were shipped out before 1pm and arrived at their destination this morning in Greenville, OH, at 9:19am! I think I lucked out on my first shipping endeavor! I dreamed about those poor birds last night. What a relief!

thank goodness!!!!

Well after reading all this talk of split wing on the SFH, I don't know if I'd want to keep and breed any of these.

I guess when I get my eggs in I'll hatch them and sell them off. I don't want any of that getting into my herd. I try hard to stay away from frizzle and silkie genes also.

There are flaws in every breed. I've got a few BLRW from a reputable breeder with split wing also. They won't be bred of course, but no breed is perfect. Imo, there are far worse traits..

Wow did you get lucky. I mailed out a box of eggs to Donna on Saturday and it said delivery on Monday. She got them today. The last update on them was when they departed the Tampa sorting facility early Sunday morning. She mailed out a box for me on Monday and I got them this morning.
