I use a sterilite tub to start, then the big guys have a 6x8 tarp on the basement floor with boxes for walls. For clean up, we just move or replace the walls onto a second 6x8 tarp, then bundle the tarp and dump it out. Works really well actually.
I actually have a puppy play pen I could set up but it would have to be in the house. These guys aren't even fully feathered yet.

madamwlf and puglady - I am very sorry for your chick losses! So sad.

I need brooder ideas!!! I'm out of brooder space and I have more chicks hatching in a week. Building is not an option since my skills stink. Last time I used my DH's circular saw, I almost cut the cord off. And i have no way of hauling lumber. I was looking at a live stock tub but heck, I have no way of getting it home. I only have my jeep. So I need help!

I am borrowing this pic from kuntrygirl on the LA thread. She is great at re-purposing! Her most recent find was a crate from a mechanic part shop. She will be using it as a brooder and said they are very light and easy to move. It's quite roomy, too!

Are you serious? Black side up?? I have the 50 and though I love it, it does get crowded under there. I may have to try this.

I have 2 Ecoglows...one of each size. I love them, but I am thinking about trying a Sweeter Heater. They are very similar to the Ecoglows, but not on stands. They can be hung (adjustable) or side mounted. Has anyone used these?

I've heard of them. Got a link? That might work for the stock tank.

What the heck? Looks like there might be some white Rhodebars out there as well as Legbars. #53 is a GFF Rhodebar egg #. I've send an email off to Jenny as both Madamwlf and I have managed to hatch one each (so far) within the last few days. We've got more eggs in lockdown too.....
