Ok, here are a couple of those "splash olive eggers".

so far one icelandic and one barred rock. more peeps but still having slow hatches. temp is perfrect, humidity perfect, I just dont get it

I put eggs in lockdown today. 1 was cracked when they all flew around the other day. I put wax on it to try and save it.... I think it worked

it was the most active chick when I candled them

I also checked all the eggs to just make more room. I had semera eggs from Red Bush Farms that were LOST for 6 days in the mail. ALL arrived in good shape. Out of 15 semera eggs 10 look to be developing

All the horror stories about semera eggs not traveling well... these seem to have. Let hope the same thing happens with all the Silkie eggs I have too. I was told they don't travel well either ..........

OK you asked for it.... here it is. This is the gear box off the Showtime Rotissire . This is NOT the motor. It would not be strong enough to turn 540 eggs.

This is the WHOLE thing put together. The gear on the front is what powers the gear that turns the eggs.



This is the box opened. The white plastic gear is the one stripped.

It has a set of teeth on the top and bottom. the bottom teeth are helical cut... there is a gear on the motor that fits those teeth. I could change that if I had other options.





just a view inside to see how it works. It slows the motor down and then the BIG gear in the incubator slows it down more.




I am OPEN to any fixes. The motor runs too fast... I think it would sling the eggs out. It needs to slow down by about half. We just don't understand how to gear it down well enough to redo this. We have toyed with the idea of a PWM. But have not figured that out yet.

Have you tried contacting the Popeil company to see if they have any available? Their website says they have all kinds of replacement parts available, just ask. I can't imagine they would be that expensive. You don't have to tell them it's to fix an incubator.

I haven't actually posted an update in a while. LOOK HOW WE'VE GROWN!

Here are this week's current standings as of 1:15AM EST, Mon. Feb 11. For all potential new swappers, we welcome your participation, but please read the rules on page 1, post #1 of this thread.

Hey,

I actually have one swap already. I claimed eggs from tdhenson86 on 8-31-12 and offered pp.

My pp was claimed by groundpecker and sent that same day. This trade is from the original thread.

I'm still lurking, I just fired up my incubator again on friday and I ordered another incubator last night so I'll be claiming my second swap soon I hope.
