that cage they are in is like 4 foot long! super cage. it works wonderful and very easy to clean and access. I am going to get lots more of these for all the heathens in the basement.

Sorry about everyone's bad day/week. I am having the same.

Just found one of my oldest CL pullets dead in her pen. She seemed thin the other day and was not standing up, so it doesn't surprise me too much, but she was doing better.
Also, supposed to be shipping a Legbar roo to Mstricer and can't get into my USPS account!

Ok trying not to panic. I have about 50 eggs that I put into lockdown a few nights ago technically due to hatch last night. Well the night I put them in the bator, long story short, got down to 95/96 degrees for about 6 hours. Do you think it could've stalled them or is it possible that it could have killed them? I'm not hearing peeping and have no pips..... :( just keep telling myself to be patient.

I'm sure they're fine, maybe just delayed a bit. I know people who purposefully lower the temps a bit during lockdown.

Where did you find it? It looks perfect for hatch to 3 weeks or so.

I found it at a swap and they usually retail for over $100. you can find them on ebay for about $75 with shipping. I bought mine at a swap this weekend for $50 and found out when I met up with the chick sellers I could have bought 6 for $30 each! so I will be stalking the sales and swaps for more. That doesn't even really give you and idea about the size. it's really cool and I have a total of 41 chicks in there and really lots more room for this young. Course in a week or so I will have to move them out! lol

I think I answered this already but the striped chicks are easter eggers. I am raising them to take to the swaps and for others wanting the blue/green eggies.

We use these for Rabbits when we have litters due during our coldest 3 weeks of the year. they stack well so each girl is comfy and inside thebrooder house to deliver.

I thought the same thing that they would stack great!

I really like them and ease of access top and bottom. plus lighter weight than the rabbits should be great for the chicks and will free up space in my basement for the rest of winter.
