OK, a little admin stuff and then time for some fun.

First, the list of those cleared to offer "Spring Eggs" (anything not available within a 2 week period). ONLY these swappers may offer "spring eggs" and must meet the other requirements:

In order to offer Spring swaps you must:

1.Have 10 swaps of current eggs cleared

2.Have pictures of your Chickens in your profile or on your swap page
3.List the number of chickens for the breed, age and how many swaps you owe already.

If you believe you qualify to offer spring eggs and are not on the list, ask an administrator to look into it and put you on the list.

Now the fun! In celebration of reaching 150 swappers signed up to participate in this swap, the administrators have decided to give everyone a Wild Card Swap
wee.gif
BUT you MUST give it away to another swapper. So think about who you would like to give your gift of a Wild Card Swap to, and PM your choice to me. I'll try to keep you updated so you can see who they are going to in case you are having a hard time deciding who is most deserving (or whose eggs you want the most

). Note: Since madamwlf already has many Wild Card swaps and is done swapping for awhile, you can't give them to her, but everyone else is fair game. You can find the entire list of those eligible here (I'll update it tonight):

Ducks and geese are so cute, until you have a brooder in your living room, because the chicken house, garage, and basement are all cold and drafty. I cleaned the entire brooder TWO days ago, and it STINKS!

He's just too cute to have stinky poops!

Yes, COF, I am not immune to the gosling cuteness, either! *sigh* Someday!!!

Well, made it through Grandparents day, valentines party and 7 hour meeting. Just got home... Found out the surest way to make even a Christian School mother mad - let her child paint his and his buddies front teeth black for a Hee Haw Play using black finger nail polish.

Honestly when I saw them I though they were using the fake stuff the play director had given them. I had no way of knowing it was left over from fall festival...Mom still made it my fault. Good thing I take things in stride. They will do something next week that will make her completely forget this week. They are definitely "all boy" !!!

Have a candling question. I have never candled my eggs. I just incubated 18 days and locked down. Now that everyone is talking about it, I wanted to do it too. I have some eggs that should be locked down today. I took them out to candle before lock down. Some of them are clear - definitely no development. Some have just a little black stuff inside - I assume they stopped developing. a couple are full - I assume ready to hatch but there are several that are full in the middle air at the big end, but clear at the small end. I was making the assumption that they were bad but when I watched closer, there is movement in the egg. not just shifting of stuff, but actual honest movement. I put them all in at the same time, what is happening and what should I do??? Please give advice.
