I think this is a sensitive issue. For the BYCers that offer their rare breed eggs for almost next to nothing on this swap thread, they may feel taken advantaged of if all you do is resell their eggs. Even if your "profit" is minimal, I think the practice is frowned upon. If you hatch the eggs and sell the extra chicks that you don't need, I think this is okay, as I think other swappers do the same. I myself got into chickens last year as a result of a summer project with my daughter. I bought a Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco incubator, found this thread, and consider myself a hatchaholic six months later. I live in the city so can't keep all the chicks that I hatch. The extras are given to friends and family. I don't sell my chicks, but I keep this hobby affordable by not spending small fortunes on rare eggs.

I think it is great that you are providing your community with your service, time, and education on poultry. If breaking even is necessary for you to continue this work, I'd say do what you need to in order for you to be able to perform the community service. Many of the swappers sell their eggs through many methods, and only offer those they can't sell as swaps. For these swappers, I don't think they'd care what you do with their eggs.

Is someone selling our eggs they get from here? That is absoutley NOT tolerated, we have banned swappers for this.

and yeah, let me know on that BS egg, and I found out that's not a cross, its pure BS, the other hen isn't laying yet.

Wish the admins would let me have a swap so I can get profti her pures she wanted Monday and not leave the others sitting until I am cleared, I could ship them at the same time...I am good for it I promise.
