I would have thought the pasturization would keep the mother from growing in the regular?

Nah, you can get it going again. I once had some plain ACV in the back of my cabinet for a long time, next time I went to use it I noticed it look all nasty and had things floating in it- that's when I learned about the whole "mother thing". Somehow the mother grew again even though it was pasteurized

Since then I started buying the Braggs kind and the cheap kind- doing the same thing as TN. I use alot of it for my chickens water so it gets pricey if you just use the Braggs. I try to mix them at least a month prior...give it plenty of time to take.

It kills anything in it when they do it, but it doesn't prevent anything from growing if you innoculate it.

I'm with you. I am tired of this winter thing and spring can c'mon in ANY TIME!

I think, most of all, my birds are sick of winter. Days of confinement and cold feet... I think they've had enough of this crap.

We're under a winter advisory thing today. Not that it's THAT bad, roads are clear, etc, but we might still get dumped on in a short time.
