Yeah, at this point I don't candle any more than necessary (and honestly, is it ever REALLY necessary unless we need the incubator space?

) Every once in a while I check an egg or two (or three) to confirm development but other than that, I pretty much don't till lockdown

Same thing with pulling eggs. Unless I need the room or there's an obvious reason (seeping egg, clear bloodring and no development, etc) I leave 'em in.

I really need a larger 'bator. Or to claim less eggs. Or something!

I really am not sure...this is my first year with them, last year was all pure Royal, my RP tom is her son thats why I don't have them together.....

I have really, really got to run around with a camera sometime soon. I came home from CPL's with SOOOO many lovely birds! Including 7 SFH adolescents from KYTinpusher that are da bomb! They are so pretty and sturdy

And ohmygosh you have GOT to see the cochins! If I had to pick a favorite, they're it. Huge and fluffy-puffy and SO sweet! It's official: cluckitall luvs cochins

It was great meeting Walli, who drove up from Dayton and got to hang out for a while. And always fun going to visit CPL (even when there's a dead car in the mix, lol! What a pain that was -- and thank you again to DH and FIL for the help!)

Good heavens, I have birdies all over the place. It's going to take a while to get a routine back down... C'mon weekend! It's supposed to warm up, which will make getting everyone sorted and settled ever so much easier

I am so bummed that I didn't get to know all of you like-minded crazy chicken people when I lived in New Carlisle, just above Dayton. Of course, I would have been in some serious trouble! Maybe someday I'll come back for a visit and meet you all.

DH said today "don't you think you have enough eggs for awhile? at least until I can build separate coops for them?"
I said yes, honey...can we go to the auction Friday?

I have more eggs coming after I get the bators empty again, but I am done too.
Will still swap some, but will just be for PP for a while.

well........unless something interesting comes up
