lol Yeah I hardly read threw any of the post. It goes so fast!! Thanks for missing me while I was gone. I missed me too. lol I hope to be around more now that I don't have as many worries on my mind. Miss knowing all the chickie news.

On a side note I got the WORST shipped chicks this week. They where in a normal box. With holes punched in the top. Unbelievable. So glad they all made it a live anyway.

And I got 2 CCL pullets from the new line. They sure are cuties!!

Received all 12 eggs beautifully packed and intact. They are setting tonight to go into the incubator tomorrow. Thank you so much. That was way more than I was expecting!

Okay, the day old bullies have been moved to the 3-week-old brooder in the garage.  No heat lamp out there, and the ecoglow is in the house with the leghorn babies.  I do have a shoe-boxed size Rubbermaid set on top of a seedling heat mat.  I know that that was going to be warm enough for the bigger ones, I guess we'll see if it's enough for the day-olds in there with them.  To be honest I wouldn't be too broken hearted if the bullies are too stupid to cuddle up with the bigger birds, I had no idea Barred Rocks were so aggressive.

That s hatchery be. The ones I got from the monthly swap were the friendliest birds we have ever had.

I finally got my chicks.  Only a few are still alive but it's apparent they won't be for long.  I'll be surprised if they make it through today.

I'm numb.  I've been so excited anticipating getting these CCLs, and now this.  All the grogel cups are empty and chicks are strewn about everywhere in the box, in the cups, under the cups, draped over the cups.  OMG, what did the PO do to this box.

       

Oh Candace I'm sorry to hear that. I know how ou feel my basque flock has not showed up yet , the PO didn't seem to care. They left Wed. Afternoon so maybe tomorrow? The shipper put in losts of watermelon so I am hopeful they could show up tomorrow. I will be up all night watching the tracking number. I don't understand how they were guaranteed by 3pm today and they won't give me a refund on shipping? It's 2 20 pound boxes not cheap. They are grown birds so I hope they can hang in there until they get here.

Sorry about you chicks. Did they send extras too? Of course they won't replace those.

No, not a single extra, but in this case that would have been just more chicks lost. They were shipped Wednesday. I didn't get the tracking number until yesterday. I was so upset that I totally forgot I had CCLs and splash olive eggers in lockdown. I came home to a 'bator full of chicks which cheered me up a little. I'm still getting blue chicks from my splash parents. I'm baffled by this.
