Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Sorry to bug everybody with what is probably some silly questions I need this rule elaborated on

In order to offer Spring swaps you must:
1.Have 10 swaps of current eggs cleared

Does this mean any 10 swaps or 10 EGG swaps? So when I do start swapping my eggs, do I have to be cleared one at a time again before swapping? Also when would I be allowed to swap my own eggs?

I understand the other rules but this one seemed fuzzy to me.
You can offer eggs even as a newbie, but your first ten egg swaps must be completed before you can offer eggs for "far future" deliveries. When the rule was written, it was fall. The mods don't want anyone to offer eggs for "far future" delivery until they have proven they can get "curent" egg deliveries sent as promised. After ten "current" egg delivieries, you can offer "future" ones.

Hubby and I went to the auction last night and came home with a dozen black Sumatra eggs, 1/2 dozen blue/black Cochin eggs, a pretty little Serama roo, and an adorable mottled frizzle Cochin Bantam roo...all from Villamil Farms here in Oklahoma

and.....all those durned coturnix quail eggs (over 100) hubby wanted

Are they actually good for anything?

I have to do some egg switching and break out the inkie I was keeping for hatching, just to accommodate the quail eggs...

and had to ask some people that were sending eggs if they were willing to wait...ugh!

Thank you very much. That helps.

It means you must complete 10 swaps where you are sending eggs on your end. Swaps where you paid PP do not count. Until you have 10 cleared egg swaps and are cleared on the list, all the eggs that you offer must be available to ship within 2 weeks.

Event: Easter Reverse Swap
When: March 30, 2013
Time: 5pm to 11pm EST
Participants: Members in good standing with the Swap Thread.
Rules: All members of the Swap thread are allowed to participate. In order to offer Spring or later eggs, you must be on the completely unrestricted list. Walli can post a list of all participants that are unrestricted. If you wish to be a main offerer please PM me and put Easter Swap in the subject line. Sign ups will end on March 23, 2013. This will not be a free for all. Names of individuals who signed up to offer will be drawn at random. If you are not on when your name is drawn then you will be skipped. If we have time at the end we will pick someone at random to put an offer up. Any good standing participant of the swap can try to claim an offer. There will be a 5 minute time limit for participants to put their offers up. Once the time is up we will move on to the next offer while the offerer is considering offers. You do not have to take any offers if there is nothing that appeals to you.

How It Works: Not many of you know how a Reverse Swap works so hopefully this will help:

CPL offers 12+ Jubilee Orpington Chicks

The object is for other participants to offer something to CPL as a trade for those beautiful chicks.

COF offers 6 goslings

crfarm offers 24+ Marans chicks

madamwlf offers 12+ Black Barthuhner chicks

Now CPL can decline all offers but instead she accepts madamwlf's offer Barthuhner chicks. If you have any questions please ask. This is a immensely fun swap and it can get crazy!!!

So it has been a very bad couple of days and I have been a bit depressed. babies squeezed through a gap in the divider in the coop and got in with 2 1 year old hens, 2 of the chicks, both pullets were killed. I moved the hens out to the farm where I keep my horses, I will just get eggs from them anytime i am out there. Anyway I have been a bit down and was sure none of my eggs would hatch, I have not seen any movement and was pretty pessimistic. Well I heard peeping and there were two beautiful SFH chicks with there heads popped out of their shells! Just the pick me up I needed!

Don't worry about the Hedemora-even if they are laying, they aren't fertile yet! Rachael just got her new roo and he is still in quarantine.

see! you should always have chickens that are just chickens so you can eat their eggs!!!! you guys have only valuable chickens and the eggs are too darn precious! so every time you eat an egg...it could have been a really nice chicken! I have eggs that although they are fertile, they would just be mutts so no guilt. (although I do have about a dozen barnevelders on my counter that I cant bring myself to eat even though there is no room in my incubator for them)
