morning off and running for our run across FL today.

Turkey hatching and raising ducks? not on my top ten list of things to see if it is a good idea. Imprinting and bonding of waterfowl is huge compared to chickens and other land fowl. Can you imagine a momma turkeys stress when a duckling went swimming and she couldnt reach it? Or if you have a pond and the duckling isnt strong enough to get back to shore and slowly sinks as they arent waterpoor yet and momma duck acts as a life raft for them. Could she sit and hatch them, most likely yes, raise them I would brood them myself personally.

We don't have a pond or one anywhere close....we have one of the larger size kiddie pools so they wouldn't be able to get in there til they are bigger anyway....I have 18 Cayuga eggs in the bator and was just a thought. I don't know if she would be too heavy and crush the Sumatra eggs that I have waiting to go in the bator. I hate to waste her set on just two eggs...

Good mornin! Gorgeous day here too, finally. but its just a big taunt from mother nature....lots of cold and rain and possible snow headed our way tomorrow.

Migraines are no fun. Hope it goes away soon! Enjoy your day all! My half decapitated little lady is doing fine. My darling son even held her on the swing for a while yesterday. He put her back in her little crate and she popped out an egg about ten minutes later! Ha! Maybe we should be putting all of the hens on the swings!

Hi again, my 3 month wait ended yesterday
Now if only Mr Buckeye would cooperate I will have some really nice eggs to swap
(The Trio hasn't settled in yet, the weather has been *dreadful* since they arrived, multiple ice storms, tornado warnings, 70mph winds on other days, hardly any sun, can't blame them, in fact come the think of it, wow, maybe *I* should move.... _)

Meanwhile, I'm working on my swap page -- it isn't done, just a basic start, but if any of you have a moment I'd love some feedback on it,

yeah there is one on another swap that will post eggs, when someone FINALLY takes the offer after being stalled for days and sometimes weeks, they will snag those other eggs offered and repost the same offer that had it stalled to begin with...since I have been in the swap threads, they have posted the same offer for a couple months and no one seems to want them. Take a hint already! sorry
