there ya go, you are closer than I am;)

I would love them!

We have 5 parrots that regularly throw all their food all over the floor. I think they figure they should empty their bowls, but I never said they had too. Then while I'm humming away cleaning up sonny, our African Grey, tells me to SHUT UP! I need a little peace in this house. Course mouthy also tells me I'm a turd and a booger. Thank you oldest son for teaching her so many wonderful things. That's why I love my tiny little pacific parrotlet.

Celtics are so pretty too. I just love pretty birds. Think that's where my son got it from.

are the coturnix good for anything besides eating...geez, I couldn't imagine cleaning enough of those to feed my family, and would take 20 eggs to make a decent omelette...
also are incubation methods the same as for chickens and the same time frame?

No they hatch after 18 days... Although I almost always have them hatch day 16/17. They also are at sexual Maturity at 6-8 weeks and lay pretty much every day for their first year.

Cots take minutes to clean. Skin them and their innards come out in a pack ( according to DH) he can do 10 quail in the time it takes to do a chicken by hand. The eggs are higher yolk to white ratio, but lower a bit in cholesterol ( I'm not sure if i 100% believe that part however) They are great pickled.

They take longer to eat, so you end up eating less of them, they are actually a great diet food that way, ha! Plus, you can eat them in 8-10 weeks, where as a Marans roo needs to be 4-5 months to be ready. They have a much better feed to egg and meat ratio, too. If you have Asians or Hispanics in your area, or people in apartments, they are great pets or meat birds ( I bet you can guess who does what !)

They will clean up after parrots, etc too, but poop more then buttons.

Same conditions but only 18 days. Fully grown in 6 weeks according to what I have read.

I'll have to check into the buttons for birders. I had never heard of anything like that. Of course, exotic birds are a lot bigger in CA than here in AR. LOL

White Crested Black Polish???

That's what I thought.... It was actually sold to me as a Tolbunt Egg!! Think they got it wrong......  Sorry WV    I paid $86.00 for 6 eggs and this is the only one that hatched. I have had an email from someone who is contacting others who bought from this lady and they also got eggs labeled TOLBUNT but the only thing that hatched was Crested Black Polish!! What would you do????

That's terrible!!!
