Just pick up the eggs from the PO and its not good news. The box looked ok, until I opened it. Out of 13, I will only be setting 4.
Have you shipped eggs before? How much did you pay for shipping? I use those 7x7x6 boxes too, although I double box, and I usually pay $8.
I took some pictures. Like I said, the box didn't look to beat up, but with the eggs right next to the top, any pressure would have, and did, break them.
I was so looking forward to themI wonder if you will work out a deal with me... Since chances are I might get one, two chicks out of it. I am going to set 4 eggs, and after shipping ($8) I paid $1.30 per egg. So, a total of 13.20. Since the eggs where so damaged, I am hoping you would refund $12 for the eggs that did not make it.
I mean no disrespect or want to cause trouble, but there are much better ways to ship eggs to protect them better. I have received many many dozens of eggs from BYC members and these are the first eggs I have lost more than one or two. I have received boxes that looks really rough outside but the eggs still where intact from superb packing.
All the floor models were gone within minutes of the posting.
Is that the little tiny priority mail box in the pic? and are those LF eggs? I am wondering, if they are LF eggs, why they sent them in that tiny box. Smallest I'd go with LF eggs is the regional rate A box.I need some advice. I received my first smashed eggs today. Packing wasn't atrocious but wasn't good. Out of 13, only 5 made it and I am only setting 4 since the fifth is covered in goo. Here are some pics:
