Woke up this morning to no power

drunk driver took out a pole @130 this morning. Why does this happen when babies are mid hatch and we're asleep?!?! Not at 6am when I can throw the genny on?

y'all keep your

please!

There were four paints out and three new Hamps and a lav but none of the silver or project cream spitz. Of course they're the ones that I'm probably the most worried about

Other than that its a gorgeous morning! We find out today if the people who looked at the house yesterday afternoon want to make an offer on our house. Hope y'all have a great day!!!
Oh frustrating! We have a curve in the road, just north of us that drivers take too quickly and whamm into the power pole. Totally sucks! Hopefully everything will turn out okay.

Everyone,

I need to ask that for right now until further notice that no one ship any more eggs to me. My son has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease which is caused by a tumor on the pituitary. We are waiting to get in for an MRI to see how bad it is. It should have been caught 8 years ago when I first starting taking him to the doctor for his weight, but all they saw was a "fat" kid and said he needed to go on a diet and get more exercise. They didn't listen when I said he didn't eat junk food, drink sodas or even consume that many calories. I knew differently because this was a kid that had always been tall and light. He was always 98 percentile on height and about 25 percentile on his weight through his early years. Unfortunately we moved away from his pediatrician who would have noticed the difference. He is now 21 only 5' 4", and finally diagnosed after gaining 150 lbs in about a year and a half.

I will send all my swaps but until I know what is going to happen and how long the recovery is going to be I don't want to have to deal with brooder chicks after the ones I have coming in right now.

Crystal
I'm so sorry, this totally sucks. We had a problem with a Dr. not listening to us, just wanting to treat symptoms instead of finding the reason for the symptoms. We finally moved and got a new Dr. who actually listened.

We are waiting on an MRI appointment, but it will definitely by surgery. We are hoping for arthroscopic which is done through the nose and is much less invasive. It will depend upon what all is involved and how large the tumor is. I will update you guys as soon as we get some results. He is hoping that they will do the surgery over spring break which is the week of the 18th. I don't want to bring him down so I didn't tell him that we probably can't schedule brain surgery that quickly. He is just thinking about all the class he will have to miss instead of getting better. In his major just missing one day in upper level classes is a huge issue.
Well, maybe he might start thinking about taking a term off? If they can't schedule the procedure during Spring Break, it might be best not to add the worry of trying to get caught up on missed school. In the long run, having less to worry about is probably better that finishing his program within a certain amount of time.

So I went to check on my last batch of eggs, due to hatch this weekend, and I saw a foot. Yep there is a hole in the side and a foot sticking out! Has anybody ever had this happen? It is still alive so I am hoping he will pip normally and hatch. But I will keep an eye on him and help if needed.
I had a quail do that. Named it babba yaga (sp) it needed help could not move to zip.

/love. It does seem good that he is focused on recovery and after not immediate. I'm sure there is someone there to talk to about the logistics of it, but if he doesn't think of it perhaps you or dh might do so? Sounds like he needs his head to be whoever it is but it might be good to know if he can't go back right away what the contegency pans are and have the school know too. Don't mean to be nosy just a thought. We will pray for you!

Praying for recovery.

Thanks, chiquita. I know that the school will give him an incomplete in his classes for medical reasons if necessary and a certain amount of time in which to complete any work. We are just trying to get him to realize that the schoolwork is important but secondary to his health and future health right now. He can finish later. He is just so driven and focused that it is hard to see him struggling with what seems to him like a end to everything he has tried to accomplish.

I know in my heart that we will get through it, and all the positive thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated. I will keep everyone updated.

CAJ, I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with doctors not listening and misdiagnosing. Nor any where near in the same league, but my son is on the autism spectrum. We started the process of diagnosis and treatment when he was one. He was nine before we got a good diagnosis and treatment plan. Now, four years later, I have been informed by his social worker that she will be moving to England. I haven't mentioned this to anyone because I feel so helpless at the moment. All the progress that we have made in the last four years,,,

Like I said, it's not even in the same league as what you and your son are going through, but I can relate with your frustration.

Thanks, everyone.  It is just really hitting me now.  I'm sitting at work holding back tears as well as I can.  He is in his last semester of college as a computer engineer, had job interviews scheduled, and has worked his tail off to graduate in 4 years as a 21 year old and maintained a 3.3 GPA in a TOUGH major.  He is taking it hard.  I have been playing the upbeat, it will be OK cheerleader in front of him and his dad.  I have to believe it will be OK.  Please forgive me if I come on and vent every once in a while during this process.

You and your son are in my thoughts. Cushings is treatable, so getting that tumor is the key. Here's a quote my daughter lives by, that always helps me through things: "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end."

Thank you for your thoughts, but in a way it is very similar. Early treatment or non-treatment causes permanent affect on the quality of life. I hope that your new social worker is someone that you can work well with and that your son can bond with. Best of luck.
