I forgot to mention that my eggs arrived yesterday from DMRippy in excellent shape with extras, will be setting them tomorrow for the Easter hatch, YAY!!

I am very sad. I came home from work today to find my black orp rooster dead. He was fine. I don't know what happened. He was my favorite roo, he was the only roo that I ever named. In fact, he was one of the very first eggs I had ever hatched and was so sweet. He made me choose Orpingtons. He wasn't quite 3, and never was sick.

So sorry to hear it. It's so great when you can find a nice, gentle roo. I wonder what happened.

I am glad AUC had good news though.

Now I definitely need to hunt for an English BBS roo.... I have backups for every other one... figures, huh?
He wasn't near the roost, but over by the door. But nothing got in.... I was running late this morning so did not get to go out there. Almost like he got sytartled maybe and flew out into the door? I dunno....

On a happier note! My "chicken addiction" wall of shame: Including thirteen lovely marraduna basque chickies, growing nicely! And my red-shoulder yokohama poults: My camera takes lousy pictures anyway, and in the barn it's really awful, but here are two of my enormous barred cochin roo from CPL. They really don't do Fat Elvis justice at all! One totally adorable little OEGB chick from WVstruttin: Game birds and buckeyes and one baby serama, oh my! And last but not least -- it was bound to happen. Sooner or later. Yeah, keeping a parrot in a plastic dog crate? Not so workable. Zeke's escape route! He was SOOOO tickled with himself, lol!

Wall of shame? That's a wall of Fame! And as for that parrot, well my African Grey gets out of her cage many different ways. She then proceeds to let the other parrots out. Gets back in her cage and yells at the others that they are NAUGHTY. It's NAUGHTY NIKI, NAUGHTY LOOIE, NAUGHT PICKLE, NAUGHTY TIMMY! Then she laughs like a psycho, which really sounds like me....shhh, when I come own to put everyone back in. When the baby turkeys were down there she let them out too! She's too smart for my own good.

There is a poultry swap tomorrow and my Hubby has said some of my birds have to go...... What would you all ask for Seramas? I and going to sell 2 sets - One Roo and 3 hens. They are a little over a year old and are laying. I have sold a few chicks, but mostly eggs. I have never sold them as adults.

I think with the English Orps their heart goes out on them. They are such large birds. I had some english orp roos that just died for no reason at ll. Healthy one day, dead the next.

If anyone on Herducks trip wants some CL roosters, please PM me. I believe I have at least 3 that can go.

Also, not sure if everyone has seen the egg foam shippers I use but I have a bunch of the punch outs from the egg holes if anyone can use them for crafts or what not. It's a long egg shaped piece of squishy foam.
