Ugh. Right now, I'm literally crying. This stupid incubator upgrade was the worst decision I've made in awhile. My step-dad refused to help anymore, because "it's a fire hazard". So, I wired everything myself and felt at least comfortable enough to plug it in. Don'tcha know, the relay gets fried, smokes and I unplug it. I call my step-dad (an electrician, by the way) and explained what happened, burst into tears and asked if he could come help. "No, it's a fire hazard". Okay, so, someone please explain to me how me possibly electrocuting myself or catching the house on fire right now is smarter than just helping me set it up the right way?!

I have a lady who comes and takes all of my bags from chicken feed and dog food to make into these.  She gave me a couple and man, they are the strongest, best grocery bags I could ever hope for!

Sewing it was quite a pain. The "fabric" and I agrued for a while, but I won. I totally think it could easily hold 2 or 3 gallons of milk without breaking, easily. Next time will be easier.

He is probably just as aggravated with it as you are, and it may well be a fire hazard, why does he say it is a fire hazard? I wish we lived closer together, my hubby was an electrician for 20 years and I know he would help you, cause I would make him!

Because, according to his safety codes in wiring a house, it's a fire hazard. I'm not sure why though. I made sure all of the wire ends were secured and covered so not hot wires would be touching anything. I guess because it has a heating element. While yes, I suppose that's a hazard, how is anything else NOT a hazard? He's like, "put it in the garage". Okay, but the garage is unheated and it won't regulate in there, so there wouldn't even be a point in having the stupid thing in the first place if I put it in the garage. Trust me, I'd RATHER have it in the garage, I don't want that big beast in my house! But it can't, and even if it could, what's the point if it doesn't work in the first darned place?!

is it a 110 or 220 volt? Maybe where it's at it would put too much load on one circuit, which is a potential fire hazard.

It's a 110. Now, I'm completely confused, because the guy's video does NOT match up to his wiring diagram at all. Not to mention, his wiring diagram doesn't match up with the wiring diagram from the actual thermostat. The thermostat has the two bays connected, his diagram does not, and when you wire to his diagram, the thermostat won't even turn on. I found out WHY my stupid relay was fried (THANK GOD I bought a second one because I was being impatient!!!) The rat's nest that was in there from the original wiring and then Ed's additional rat's nest had everything all funky. I completely removed my indicator light on the bator, which was connected to the main power source, AND the relay, and that's where the power came from to fry the relay. Now, my indicator light will not work, because I honestly don't know how to wire that in, HOWEVER, the thermostat, provided that I get this all correct the second time around, has it's own indicator light. Now, I have to figure out exactly how to connect the two bays in the thermostat together, when one is supposed to be a DC, and it's supposed to also be connected to the relay, which is AC... Since I'm literally electrically retarded, this is extremely difficult for me. I look at a simple light bulb connection, which I know is easy, and I can connect the idea that it's easy enough and should be simple, I am just missing some kind of connection in my head that tells me HOW to do it. I can't even explain why it doesn't make sense to me, lol.

i am so sorry you are having such a hard time with this...I am electrically retarded myself, and you describing all that just made my head hurt...I can imagine how your head feels right now. lol
take a break, get a soda and just sit back and look at it, maybe it will come to you. DH doesn't have any ideas?

This x's 2! Sorry Betta

To everyone who has orders for the Marvin Stukel PBR eggs. I have a 8 week old Rooster who I am fixing to rehome. Well he looks like a little rooster, and the two big guys are picking on him. He is going up for sale as soon as I can get the time to post something on him. I am fixing to go out and get pic's of him. Buyer to pay shipping and the box cost also. PM me for more info. I'll be outside so it might take me a bit to get back to you.

I'm so sorry! If you were closer, I would offer to incubate them for you, but Pensylvatucky is a far cry from Michigan...
