Ok, I give up. I have 3 egg packages that are missing, late whatever. Here is one of them. Please remember that I am in Florida. It left Phil, went to harrisburg, now back in Philadelphia??? I have another one that showed that it was in Jacksonville, FL on the 8th. When it hits there, I get it the same day. Still don't have it. I think maybe I am going to quit swapping for awhile, out of 5 boxes, I have received 2 of them.

Honestly, it probably is true, as that happened to some expensive live birds I purchased last year (Citron Splash Hamburgs), and one died from it. Grrr. Our USPS system seems to be worsening by the day sometimes.

Here's hoping it will be ok, as I've heard of eggs surviving horrible trips.

I sell day-old pullets for $15 and males for $5.

$45 for a dozen hatching eggs.

I'm close. Around here $20 for pullets and $10 for roos. I don't sell many hatching eggs since most a specific amount of hens and roosters.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking of listing my babies for $25 each on CL. I'll think about listing at $20 instead. One of the reasons I was going to start a bit high is that many times people will offer a lower price and I'm hoping to walk away with the $20 per.

You know, that does make sense. Probably why. We need an underground railroad system for hatching eggs and chicks.
I have to say I am quite pleased with USPS right now. I sent out 5 packages of eggs Saturday from my rural post office and 4 of the 5 had arrived yesterday. That includes a box to CA and NE.

It normally takes at least 4 days for anything in or out of here because of the new sorting centers being overwhelmed, but I was told that it was finally getting organized. Maybe the same will start happening elsewhere. Our cutbacks started last year.

You know, speaking of transport.... I plan on driving from State College PA to Sharpsburg, MD in two weeks if anyone along the way needs a ride for chicks or eggs. Or if anyone is interested in the 2 white POL silkie pullets I have for sale..... :)

It sound like the SFH really need something in the ACV with the mother. So far everyone who responded that they had good results fed it, or the people they got their eggs from fed it. Hmmmmm.

Mine are doing great on just water with vitamins. Even the two that were hatched early by my turkeys. So I dunno why your having a problem. Mine are in a wooden crate with my turkeys, well mine until they are picked up, and the recently hatched Marans and EE. So all I can do is shrug.
