My SBEL's were yellow when they hatched.

So I wonder why mine are black??

you are sure on the eggs and what they were from from? Maybe a difference in crosses used?

I am sure they are from Kraftyladies and yes they are supposed to be SEBL's. Yes maybe she crossed something different to make them....

I have a BIG announcement to make!
After this coming week, I have to put a halt to receiving eggs. Until I get back in May. Are y'all sitting down? That means in April, I will be TURNING OFF my incubator.

The only way I can go on my trip is to have everything hatched and at least a few weeks old. Gotta help hubby out a little bit.

I hope this doesn't pose a problem for anyone. I will still be sending out eggs, just can't receive em!

I still owe you some SA eggs, right? They have just started to lay, so would you like them now or later?

Can somebody get your IP address and use it for themselves even if they don't live close to you. I am having big problems with someone, can't say who..... but it needs to stop. I was informed by the mods that it was my IP address under the username..... What does that mean, they are using my IP and if so HOW......

oh, i forgot to add they left me negative feedback out of spite too and they never even bought any birds off of me on BYC.... the mods won't remove it.

Now I am ticked and am tired of being harassed and if the mods won't do anything about it then I am done and will just fulfill my swaps. I can't deal with this, I have 4 little ones and already get stressed enough I don't need this too.

Michelle, I am so sorry you are dealing with this person. The more I know about them, the less I like them.

Woot there it is my 1st SEBBIE egg

And I got my first one yesterday, too! (It wasn't fertile-I cracked it to see, because I don't want to use the gander I have-he is very poor quality and temperament). Rachael and I will combine our flocks this week and test fertility ASAP.

So I was busy today making my new pens.... well some. These are TEMPORARY pens for quarantining, broodies, extra Roos, single matings and to find out WHO is laying those dark eggs

. I am trying to get everyone UP and these will stack and I am liking them so far, but after tomorrow I will know more wether I like them or not. They are 55 gallon barrels (Food Grade) and are laying on their side. I put a wire door on the front and feeder and waterers on each side. I have all of $8.50 in each one. I am going to get more so I can have a couple of walls of them. Right now my shop is FULL of single birds in pens. BTW these are MUCH bigger than a reg Dog Carrier.

Here is where I got the idea from. I will NEVER have this many.... I promise. There are several pics there of how he used them. Mine will be inside.

I have black minorcas and white leghorns in with my lav ams.... you will have a mix of both with same egg result.

Susan said she used black minorcas. I personal dont think a sbel HAS to be a leghorn cross. Just a cross made with a great white layer and a blue layer

Oh Awesome!! Thank you!! So what will they look like when they grow up? So far the three that have hatched are black but I still have three more in the hatcher that havent done anything yet.

I attempted to get some things done outside but finally gave up. It's just too darn cold outside. And they are calling for snow tonight.

So Maya and I are relaxing in the recliner. She's sleeping and I'm surfing the net.
