I have never had a rooster this old that had no interest in the ladies. I mean his around 8 months old supposedly.

My Silver Penciled Roo was scared of the hens forever they are about 3 months older than him and he would not go near them, he would roost in the floor while they were on the roost and run from them if they got aggressive. Just the last couple of weeks he has started warming up to them and they don't seem to mind at all.

Speaking of Head bumps. I got a shipment of hens choice from Groundpecker about 25 days ago and yesterday I was rewarded with one very adorable silkie baby and one of the ugliest silkie babies I have ever seen.

I am sure he will be absolutely gorgeous once he grows up, but I have never seen the vaulted skull before and I have to admit that it is a little freaky looking. But they're very healthy and I am thrilled.

Yes, that one will probably have a LARGE crest.

I know they are but it this was my first silkie hatch and I was a bit shocked at the little mug that looked up at me.

I feel like a dummy. I totally forgot I had eggs due to hatch today. Came home from work and milled about some. I was home for a few hours before I remembered. I was rewarded with 2 adorable bantam chocolate Orp chicks waiting to come out.

$1k!! Really? Is 12+ chicks really worth that much especially when you are only guaranteed 5 female chicks.
