Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Can I ask a question here? I just want to make sure I understand the rules completely :) I filled out the form and submitted it, and we don't have laying hens yet, so basically when I see an unclaimed offer I want I can claim it by posting the post number and saying mine; then I make an offer myself, at least $18 dollars if paypal (which it would be unless I buy eggs to send, I imagine). When someone claims that I send them the money over paypal as soon as possible? If that's all correct I have a few more questions.

1) I saw that our trades have to be approved for a certain period, how does that work?

2) I only have one incubator and just set the eggs. If I want eggs but want to delay it is that generally accepted, or is it only if the person specifies it?

And I'm not sure I've been a member three months, I'll check and make sure I wait to pass that milestone. Ooh, this thread is going to be bad for me, I can tell. (And by bad, I mean amazing)

Hope it was okay to ask those here! If not I can edit my post :)

OK I have to build 4 more brooders, one tomorrow after work for my GFF chicks

, then one for my swap eggs and my eggs from my last hatch. Then another hatch next week about Tuesday.
Need more time and more money, oh yeh and more warm weather. Oh did I mention that I need to finish one chicken tractor for my Chocolate Orps and build another for my quad of Chocolate Orps. Then one for my Buff Brahma Bantams and one for my Dark Brahma Bantams because it won't be long before they start laying

. Maybe I need 3 of me but I ain't sure my wife could handle/tolerate 3 of me.

Then you are cleared by one of the mods. 2) I only have one incubator and just set the eggs. If I want eggs but want to delay it is that generally accepted, or is it only if the person specifies it? I always ask if they can hold off on shipping unless the offer is for future, but watch out you will start double stacking like so many others. Join the crowd! We have lots of fun! Hope it was okay to ask those here! If not I can edit my post :) this is where you should ask, so you are already doing great!
Hope I got everything. Welcome and have lots of fun hatching

Beautiful Cake! I might have to try that one day.... the chocolate thing.

I was afraid to stack a cake.... I had never done it.... SO I cheated a little.

And since we are sharing or crafty-ness.... I Doctored up my wedding dress too. I just bought a basic white dress and I added all the burgundy, beading, corset, and train (I even did the embroidery) and the vale and headdress and flowers HAHA I was busy being thrifty
Now you all know what I looked like before 2 more kids LOL and yes I do LOUSY Photoshopping too.

I could never get my buttercream to look that good. I think thats why I started using the chocolate.

Your dress turned out great!! With everything you did to it, I bet you had a lot of hours into it. It is amazing what we girls will do for our wedding day.

You don't send paypal until the person that CLAIMS your PP offer is accepted by someone else. Sometimes offers have to be rolled back and if you pay the paypal it would have to be refunded. PP is $17 unless it has gone up again... you can offer more.

If you ask for eggs at a specific time it is up to the poster if they are willing or able to do that. Sometimes the chickens will not be laying and you will have to work around that too.

Your first 7 swaps have to be cleared to swap without supervision. You have to Clear 10 swaps of eggs you shipped to offer egg at a later date... like summer eggs or fall eggs.

I made buttercream roses to put on the cake. We were going to paint them in burgundy dust stuff... but that didn't work very well so we used REAL roses. Butter cream is easy to smooth. Use plenty of meriangue powder and let it sit till firm to the touch. Put wax paper over that and SMOOTH with a spatula or your hand and finger when needed.

We pulled off a wedding with food for about 100 people for about $3000 - $5000 if you include rings and honeymoon. Gold was 1/2 the price it is now though.

Thank you both! That clears it up nicely

I'm so exited! If my incubator wasn't full I'd be jumping in there right away. Should have bought a bigger one, haha

Just stopping in to say hi and good night, my life is seriously insane right now, and I can't keep up , although I wish I could, I love reading everybody's posts!!

I know this is old, but sorry madamwlf about your bunnies, I had rabbits for years as a teenager and, like the others said, that does happen with first time moms, either they don't cover them, they trample them to death or they eat them, blech...

I found if I put them in the quietest cage that I could, even covering the cage with scraps of fabric or something, the better they did (so it's more like a burrow), so they wouldn't get nervous and scared and such... And never move them really close to delivering, if they weren't in a good cage, I moved them at least a week before I thought they were due, and gave them lots of fresh straw to make their nest. They also really liked making the nest, so I would put some straw in the nest box, but then put a bunch of straw in the cage for them to pick up and take into the next box, this also seemed to calm them and help them be "ready" That was my experience, anyway!!
