Very cute BBS orps!! I have a friend that I am supposed to meet up with sometime this month and we are trading Choc orp eggs for her english BBS eggs. I am so excited!!!
If you are interested in trading some of these English orps. for some chocolate orps.(hatching eggs), I'd be up for it. I'd like to ship chicks, but am not npip yet. My English are black only, no blue or splash. Someone here was generous enough to start me on the chocolate orps., so I guess I must continue.......

"are bidding on 6+ Fertile Hatching Faverolle eggs.  These birds are becoming
very popular, as they are RARE in the USA at the present time.
They are extremely great layers - laying over 150 eggs per year.  They
mature faster than other poultry.  They are multi-purpose chickens
raised for meat or eggs.  The eggs are bluish green and light pinkish - beige."

Look at this quote from an ebay add for Salmon Faverolle.  I have never had any that lay bluish green eggs.  They must be really RARE.

Yup those are as rare as the ones in my backyard!

Betta, I bet the cold helped keep them loger.  That is great, though!

CPL sent me Tolbunt eggs last weekend.  I candled them and the 3 dozen bantam Orp eggs I picked up from Mama2my4.  Of the 9 Tolbunts CPL sent, 7 are developing!  Of the 3 dozen bantam Orps, all but 3 are developing!  That's better fertility/development than my own birds have right now!

I think I need to stalk CPL for tolbunts next. :0)

I have a question for anyone that has Rhodebars or has hatched them. I won an auction of rarebreeds for these. When the eggs came in they were in varying shades of cream to tan, but also had some with matte finish and some with glossy. Now I can understand the varying colors but finish? Did I get Rhodebar, or is there something else in the mix?

I got some on ebay and they were different shades but, I don't remember texture. I do know that sometimes my other hens will lay different textured eggs. My gold laced brahams will sometimes have bumpy (sandpaper) eggs. I think it just has to do with the hens diet and health.
