Betta, I bet the cold helped keep them loger. That is great, though!

CPL sent me Tolbunt eggs last weekend. I candled them and the 3 dozen bantam Orp eggs I picked up from Mama2my4. Of the 9 Tolbunts CPL sent, 7 are developing! Of the 3 dozen bantam Orps, all but 3 are developing! That's better fertility/development than my own birds have right now!

Hatched first cross beak chick this weekend...must have been all that talk...

It better not be my 1 jubilee that hatched...just saying!!!!

I'm not sure who is who yet...

Others are MF Leghorn.

I have had to rescue wild bunnies several times here. I have had great success, but I wear gloves when I feed just in case of biters. We have an idiot farmer around here that leases land and ends up mowing the preserve when he isn't allowed to and mows the babies over. Kills half of them and momma never returns then the cats and dogs start picking them off. So now i make a habbit after the dummy mows the field he isn't allowed to and go looking for babies. I rescue them and feed them then release them back in the wild when they are eating on there own in a field that never gets mowed. I have called the state several times and they won't do anything about him.

He is killing the wildlife. I had to rescue a nest of Gardner snakes cause he mowed down the hummingbird tree that they were living under and he mowed some of the snakes over and they were cut open. Poor things. I yelled at him and told him off about it finally and he apologized. Then the hummingbird tree managed to start growing again and he ran it over again.

Me and him are gonna have it out. Some people just don't care, he is mowing down all of where the nature lives around us.
Okay so what's your address...I think I need to send them to you!!!!!!!!

I will try to fence off the area and put them back. do you guys really think the mom will come back after 24 hours? that would be great if she did. and if I could keep the dang-blasted dogs out of the nest. this is my houdini dog who can open our front door...

She may. They only feed like twice a day.

I have 10 adorable little chocolate orps running around with one little silkie- my youngest daughter loves silkies (she is the only reason we keep them) All 10 are promised out locally and I only have a few more days of their precious little peeps in my house.

On the other hand- I have black breese chicks that are still in my house from the first GFF shipment a few weeks back. We are building our GFF chicks a completely separate living facility away from everyone else since they have been vaccinated and our other birds are not vaccinated. The Breese are curious little things- I find one little guy on my little boys trucks all the time. Apparently the outside of the brooder is much more fun than the inside. Yes, they are still in my house- Our rules have always been when the chicks reach 1 week old they get booted out to the barn in our brooder room. The Gff chicks are a bit more special so they get to stay inside until their room is built. The one little breese will jump out of the tote and look around to see if you are looking and if he sees you coming he will jump back in the tote.

You can ask Jenny not to vaccinate your chicks. I do since none of my birds are vaccinated.
