Wish I could find decent cages on CL.  Everyone around here wants a fortune for stuff that looks like crap.

I was lucky to find these and then the person before me decided they couldn't pick up this morning. Yeah! Mostly I use wire dog crates, but these are actual show crates. One is 15 and the other is 20. So all in all including gas it will cost about $45 and my poor hands didn't need to build em!

Found a good website on caring for orphanned bunnies. says they have a slim chance of survival unless I can get some "Cecotrophes" from an adult bunny to give them the probiotics they need to be able to digest plant material. Evidently Cecotrophes are the dark sticky stool that Rabbits pass at night that they re-eat.

EEEEWWWW!!!

so now I am trying to find someone locally with rabbits.

sigh.

Yeah, hand raising baby rabbits isn't usually successful, but good luck! I need to breed my rabbits...

Your best bet is to put them back and keep your dog away for at least the week. Hand raising is so hard to do.

Ok baby bunnies-wild.....................fence off thenest area making it tall enough the dog cant jump over, and make a "mouse hole" type entrance for mom (if she so chooses to return) and put the babies back.

I have had to rescue wild bunnies several times here. I have had great success, but I wear gloves when I feed just in case of biters. We have an idiot farmer around here that leases land and ends up mowing the preserve when he isn't allowed to and mows the babies over. Kills half of them and momma never returns then the cats and dogs start picking them off. So now i make a habbit after the dummy mows the field he isn't allowed to and go looking for babies. I rescue them and feed them then release them back in the wild when they are eating on there own in a field that never gets mowed. I have called the state several times and they won't do anything about him.

He is killing the wildlife. I had to rescue a nest of Gardner snakes cause he mowed down the hummingbird tree that they were living under and he mowed some of the snakes over and they were cut open. Poor things. I yelled at him and told him off about it finally and he apologized. Then the hummingbird tree managed to start growing again and he ran it over again.

Me and him are gonna have it out. Some people just don't care, he is mowing down all of where the nature lives around us.

Okay everyone, here's a bit of a shocker. Last week, I picked up eggs that the old mail lady left on the prison porch. They picked it up after 4 days and lots of snow. I was sent 4 eggs and ended up candling early last night after curiosity got the best of me... 3 have development!
