Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Had a sad moment this afternoon. I had 4/11 CCLs from spoiled chicken and madam hatch. I think that I didn't put them into lockdown early enough. They were all fully formed but not totally in position. 2 boys and 5 girls never made it out. Figures that the four that hatched are all boys as well! :hit  Well at least I know for the upcoming lockdown! Those suckers are going to get 4-5 days. I accidentally put some araucanas into lockdown three days early and they ALL hatched. Fingers crossed for next time!

:hugs I can send more as part of our side swap in a couple of weeks after I get caught up :D

I also found a CCL pullet egg today which means the second group from early Nov is starting to lay :celebrate
Soon I'll have 17 pullets laying. Is that enough? :gig

Thanks krazy. By the way the other day when you asked me about the turkeys my early warning system went off at 4:30 the next morning.

Here she is
400

I always have a few chicks hatch a couple of days before the poults. I currently have two turkey pips, and apparently missed a few chicken eggs when I was moving them to the hatcher cause one just fell from the shelf it was ridding. Looked in there and found a couple more pips. What a maroon! Poor baby is all sticky dry too. I always label set date, so I have no idea where my head was at.

Awww! I just :love babies
I currently have 16 hatched and a few more still deciding if they are going to or not, no pips, but the rest came from a hen from a friend (the one I got the eggs from that I sent to you) that got dragged off her nest and never seen again, so I don't know exactly when she started setting that nest, and may be running a couple days later or so, I did candle a couple and their was movement and the aircells looked like they were close to hatch, so we will see. :fl A couple that have hatched looks like they may be chocolate, I am not sure, but they are adorable. Just wondering if you can get chocolate out of a mixed flock of bronze, narries, and royals :/

I have to say, I'm extremely lucky. While G is helpful, he's not TOO helpful. He actually helped me get a waiting list for my MF D'Uccles, if that little hen decides to ever lay! He helps clean the coop, feed/water, waters everyone before going to work in the morning (that's the best part, I hate waking up to demanding birdlettes), and on weekends, he even does the breakfast for the boys so I can sleep in, lol.

You're very lucky Bettacreek. Mines ok with me having them but doesn't help with daily chores at all. He will snow blow a path to the coops in the winter but thats just about it.

Mine were hatching out like chocolates. I think mixed with white gives them that shade, because Hoover was like that (royal palm/bronze) and the babies are all like that (BBB/royal palm tom over a BBW). The white of the bb is obviously different from the RP white.
