I traded one of our FBCM Roos to a guy that lost his. He gave me eggs. None developed. The only shipping was in his car to my car to home. Not such a good result there. Oh we'll stuff happens.

I guess he must have lost his roo before the roo was able to do his job fertilizing the eggs. Maybe contact him back now that your roo is with his hens.

I have had an incredibly hectic week and a half. I can't even begin to catch up. I am so sorry to hear of all the shipping problems and sick birds and sick people.

I hope everyone is doing much better soon.

For flu, I always use Boiron Oscillococcinum - it is homeopathic, can be taken as a preventative and is available at most pharmacies these days. Maybe some chick pics will cheer everyone up.

I just hatched 7 sexlink Marans

from DMRippy out of 8 shipped eggs

(one was clear). I believe there are 4 girls and 3 boys, is that correct?

I also hatched 8 chicks from my EE roo over BR hens, which I believe are sexlink also, in blue and black!

Looks like 5 girls and 3 boys with puffy cheeks. I wasn't expecting the blue.

Wow!!! What a great hatch rate of males to females! I wish my hatches went like that. Unfortunately, I usually get about 2 males to 1 female. Sadly, that's not a joke.
