Oh my goodness, I hate you you lucky donkey you! If I brought a donkey home, even a mini, my horse would hit the roof. I used to live in NY and I took her to Syracuse for the State Fair several years in a row. This one year the donkey and mule show was going on at the same time as the 4-H show and apparently my horse has a serious phobia of anything donkey-like. She is an Arabian and she is super-smart. She's not really afraid of anything, but has always used fear as an excuse for getting out of things she doesn't want to do, so I can just generally blow her off when she spooks and make her do whatever it is that I want her to do.

Not the donkeys though, when I say phobia, I mean Phobia. I've never seen her that afraid of something. She really was convinced that those donkeys were the minions of the devil sent to Earth to eat her. She doesn't even object to guinea hens as much as she does donkeys.
I think the predators around here have the same fear as your horse. We see very few of any of them around anymore.

We don't even hear the coyotes howling in the distance anymore.

Normally our donkey runs anytime the cows come up. They are always chasing her away from any good food if we don't intervene. But tonight when we brought the jack home, she actually pushed the cows out of the way to get the best look at him!

Hey guys, I know a lot of you have little mini almost farms, I don't know if it's a super good deal or not but I got an email for custom stamps with free shipping. Maybe for egg cartons?

Hum.... I have a good friend that GAVE me all her commercial rubber stamp making equipment.... even the self inking ones like that. I just need time for her to come over and show me how to make them. But that will not be for a few months.

Well, I have some bad news. I've had some major issues with my chickens lately. I've thought long and hard about this. As soon as the chickens I have now have lived full lives, I will not be getting anymore. On my last hatches from shipped eggs, I got one chick out of over three dozen eggs and this one was SUPPOSED to be a Rhodebar, but it is yellow with two black spots. I had a great hatch out of my own pilgrim goose eggs, so I know it's not that. It just has something to do with shipped eggs that don't do well for me. Then, a few nights ago, a raccoon literally ate a hole through our fencing and killed every single Rhodebar I bought from madamwlf and then last night something ate through the brooder at the other end of our property and killed some of my chicks from CPL. I'm just done. We've killed at least 40-50 raccoons and possums in the last two years and they still kill everything. Nature wins this one. Thanks to all of you for being so supportive! Once my spring claims come in and the hatches are done, I will not be getting anymore chickens. I'll fulfill the orders I have out, but then I'm done.

:hit
That made me cry! I'm so sorry! :hugs big huge :hugs

:barnie I seriously need to live closer to you! That was one of my favorite mediums a long time ago! Print making and carving out the designs and reliefs......le sigh. I guess I already have WAY too many hobbies as it is! Speaking of which I need to get back to the burning of the wooden things! :gig

Look what we brought home today to our Jenny - she is like

So cool....but are you talking about another donkey when you say "jenny" or a person? that IS a donkey...right (gosh I am tired...eyes are crossing)
I wish some of the swaps owed to me were shipping this week. My dorking is broody and she is amazing at hatching eggs! Bettet than my cochins even.
I love broody mama hens....
Psankygirl I would love to go to lunch, but we may need to do it digitally. I rarely leave the farm due to health and Virginia is just a little further than I could possibly drive. Beautiful country though! I would love to come out. Maybe I'll make it over that direction for one of the McCoy/Hatfield reunions. Would be fun to check out the crazy side of the family.
That is TOOO funny that you are related to them....HA!!!! I saw or read (cant remember) a special or something that said one of the families had a genetic mental issue that they are even suffering from today, albeit with modern medicine, so they can be normal. I think it is cool that they can do combined reunions now.

Guess I should tell you I had a small Engraving business. Stationery, Letterhead, business cards..... my Wedding Invitations......my favorite was MONOGRAMS. You should see all the monograms I have made on my computer, created my own fonts for it too... well I don't know how to make FONTS really but I have each letter made in the same style. SO ENJOYED that. One day I will get it going again. I still have all the equipment at the Farm in its own workshop. I wrap egg in there now LOL
