On the bright side of things, my Porcelain d'Uccles are laying well these days and I'm marking eggs and incubating to check fertility, so I might have more than PP to offer soon.

I woke up early to whistling turkeys calling me. Seems the oldest poults got a little rambunctious and broke their water container. Most of a gallon of water on a cold tile floor that early will wake you right up. Little stinkers have been jumping and trying to run and fly, but just don't have the space. Guess we will be making some brooder decisions today. To bad it's cold, wet and spitting little balls of I've right now. Last year at this time my gardens were in bloom. Haven't even gotten most of my starts done this year. Oh warm warm spring and summer days where for art thou? I'm forever stuck in the land of bloody nasty weather.

My guys are going CRAZY!!!!! In my big kid brooder, I put them by the window. They are line up along the edge of the brooder box. like birds on a telephone wire, and stare longly out the window for hours at a time. And in my kindergarden box, I have one of the chirpers just raising all holy chaos.....all night! I told my roommate not to carry them around in her hoodie. The minute you do that, you are SOL. Once they figure out they can kangaroo, there is no convincing them that they should be anywhere other than your hood! These birds NEED to go outside and get out of my dining room. Poor buddies, the look at me everyday with a look that says"Why am I in prison"?

Last night was rough. I think I got a touch of food poisoning or Madam's stomach flu. I haven't been that sick in a LONG time. What is it about dry heaves that makes every muscle in your body hurt like !@#%@#?

Ok, I have 5 quail laying, so I would say another week I will be filling orders. Here is my list of people I owe quail eggs to. I will PM the swapper as I get to their name on the list, these are in order. Also, if I owe you two shipments, please let me know your preference of getting them in a row, or if I could fill a couple orders in between.

But on a bright note that really annoying chick has been shut up. Every time it starts up one of the younger Midgets goes and pecks it. It then tries to crawl under the others so it can keep making noise, but they all get up and run around. He has nobody to hide under, so he better be quiet. Ahhh peace and quiet! Well kinda....just a lot of happy sounds which I enjoy listening to.

Well way past time to let the maniacs out. Guess I better go feed some horses and open some coops. It's raining and sleeting so yuck.
