Is it a nice deep crow?  I swear mine is the loudest of all my roosters.

He's definitely just starting but it's a really nice crow. He really positions himself before he lets one out. It makes me smile. I think he's going to be an amazing rooster! I love my bresse!

oh, and I forgot to say that it looks like of the 6 EO Maradunna Basque eggs that CPL sent (that hatched,) 5 are girls! (!!!!)
only one has while feathers, the others have sort of mottled wingfeathers coming in.

and 4 of the Silver Sussex hatched (under my broodies) from CR farm they all look identical, though so I will probably have to wait to tell what sex they are...do silver sussex have any identifyiny traits that allow you to tell them apart early? (like early wing feathering on girls or something?)

no I have not found any specific traits. the pullets tend to have the more slender legs but by 2-3 weeks you usually have a general idea of male/female. I am so glad you had some hatch!

I love my boy's crow and absolutely love them! He is the only rooster I don't have a problem with.

I know, right? I am thrilled! a spot of hope, for sure! and they are so cute! little black/grey/white fluffballs. I will look for legs if my broodies let me.

Question- Mealworms. If you get in a couple of kits and they are all dead, is there a chance the eggs might hatch? Or should I just throw them all away?
